UPDATED: NOV 17, 2020 「

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2020 lightly smokey, roasted smell. no meat smoke. smooth yet very rich chocolate/tootise roll taste. ends up with some whiskey n wood. really great. cant believe it took me so long to find this. when something good like this comes up, i always check out anything else from the brewer. would get again regularly

Smoky/toasty aroma, pours a dark brown with frothy head. Coffee flavor dominates initially then finish is thick and creamy chocolate. Very nice! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: FEB 9, 2019 One of Highlanders better beers. For being a smoked beer it could be a little more smokey, but it's still good.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2018 Can from brewery - at home. Here is an underappreciated very nice porter - not heavy - 6.5%, 27IBU - extremely pleasant, very flavourful, 'dark' due to chocolate, coffee, roasted almonds - not really dark at all, not bitter either - all real solid character - nothing negative about it! (Wouldn't have called it 'smoked', though). Deserves a higher rating IMHO.

Blacksmith Smoked Porter 6.5% Cola black in color with red highlights and an aroma of roasty chocolate. Where's the smoke? The taste is nutty chocolate and oats. Alright but so not smokey. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black with a beige head that leaves lots of lacing. Aroma is coffee and ash. Taste is moderately sour, a little sweet and a little bitter. There are notes of roasted malt, coffee, ash, plums, and dark chocolate. Moderate to full bodied with moderate carbonation. More ashy than smoky and too sour.

azzurro (1954) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 30, 2017
Smooth porter with a subtle taste of smoke, too subtle for my taste. It is still a good beer but not distinctive enough. This one was promoted by the LCBO with two other smoked beer, it is not as good as the Rauchbier.

Very dark, fairly flat pour - black with hints of red. Aroma is milk chocolate, cherry, oak. Taste is chocolate, leafy hop, cherry, smoky wood finish. Enjoyable and drinkable.
