UPDATED: SEP 2, 2020 Hazy golden color with a large white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Toasty, citrus, tropical fruits, lemongrass, and a tart finish.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2019 750ml bottle, at the Beer Jerk Bunker bottle share, thanks to me, but actually thanks to mansquito for the trade. Pours hazy yellow. Delicate yeast, nectarine, lemon, slight pepper, cereal, sticky mango, pineapple. Nice spritzy body. Gorgeous balance.

Bottle. Fresher, fruitier, more balanced version of Dorothy. Some nice lemon and slight tropical fruit notes, a little sweeter.

Quintessence. Unclear pale yellow. Brausetablettensaison, herbal phenols. Light, strongly bitter, lively carbonation, explosion of texture but not flavours. Goodish? Weird table beer.

Alengrin (9649) - Gent, BELGIUM - MAY 8, 2018
Brett-fermented modern American farmhouse ale by this acclaimed brewery, sampled at Cantillon's Quintessence event. Snow white, moussy, irregularly shaped head lacing in streaks over a hazy yellow straw blonde beer with greenish tinge. Aroma of freshly cut cucumber, green melon, sourdough, unripe kiwi, young nettle shoots, raw pineapple, pear peel. Crisp, bright, 'green' fruity onset, unripe pear and raw pineapple, some melon, light lime-like citric touch but not thoroughly sour, fizzy carb, lending it a spritzy, light-footed mouthfeel. Sourdough- and soapy wheat-like basis, drying finish with 'dusty' and dried lime peel aspects, hayish due to the Brett working cleverly together with the Citra, remaining soft in hop bitterness. Very intelligent, high class beer within this new world of 'saisons' in the postmodern, American sense of the word, light and elegant, blending Citra and Brettanomyces features with each other in a way I never though possible, crisp and bright in every respect. Wonderful in its particular segment, this one, perhaps more than other Hill Farmsteads I had so far, is worthy of the hype surrounding this brewery.

Martinus (5018) - Baarle-Nassau, NETHERLANDS - MAY 7, 2018
Clear golden colour, white head. Malty aroma, straw, fresh hops, light brett notes. Fresh bitter flavour, hoppy notes, lemon. Funky 'dirty' finish, lemon, hops. Nice, fresh and drinkable ale, but it gets kinda lost in this lambic powerhouse.
(from 75cL bottle @ Quintessence '18)

Koelschtrinker (28835) - Brewver-Town, GERMANY - MAY 7, 2018
Hopfiger, mild würziger Beginn. Spritzig, dumpf grasig, steigend herb. Okay. 8/7/8/8//8
