UPDATED: MAY 20, 2018 Zajebisty saison, w aromacie sporo się dzieje, beczka nadaje szlachetności, ułożone, piękne piwo, cytrusy, kwiaty, lekkie tropiki. Półwytrawne łamane na półsłodkie, pyszne, pijalne. Wow

*6/4/2013 750ml growler poured in a Hill Farmstead oversized wine glass. A~ glowing light orange, with a darker hue hidden in there. nice fluffy white head with a good amount of lacing. soo vibrant! S~ lots of citrus of course, tangerines, lemon, orange, and a little apricot. some piney notes, and a little funk on the finish as well. T~ pretty much follows the nose, which is to be expected here. more earthy flavor comes out after all the citrus floods your palet with deliciousness. all followed by some bitterness and barnyard funk on the finish. M~ very smooth, kind of light, and less carbonation then most HF’s but still completely fine. which could be from the growler. O~ this reminds me of a non-double version of Abner in the best possible way. the funk and saison like characteristics are there just not imperial-ly haha definitely a great pale and of course worth a glass or 10 =]

Draft at Blackback. Feels like Im on jeopardy ordering this. Hazy golden pour with frothy white head, great retention and lacing. Aroma brings ... fruit juice (of the citrus variety - I want to say orange but I always want to say orange even though its probably some tropical fruit punch cocktail chock full of pineapple and stuff), grass - lean malt backing, hard to pick much out over the pungent hop punch. No caramel or anything, more in the biscuit / cracker direction, but its hiding so deep behind the hop component its hard to say much. Im stretching. Taste: light sweetness, moderate bitterness, lingering toasted Cheerios. Light+ body, average carbonation, soft texture. Overall: as best as a person can be objective, Id say this is an impressively well-crafted American pale ale. And here I am primed to love this -- getting out of the car once wed finally arrived into town a couple of hours ago I was positively giddy, stepping foot outside the gates of what may well be a neckbearded drunkards Mecca. Im looking forward to tomorrows pilgrimage to the holy site itself, but with some trepidation, because if Im being completely honest with myself, when faced with the question what is enlightenment? my hearts response is is that all there is? Perhaps its time to go dancing.

Draft at Alewife. Dry, fruity pale ale with notes if pear and melon. Cool tingle in the finish. Floral aroma. It has that Vermont freshness to it. Another really good one from HF.
