COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A wintery stout has been brewed for the 2013 Mistletoe season aptly named "Kiss Me Now" and for every pint sold, a 5p donation will be made to The Tenbury Mistletoe Association, to support their work. Brewers at Hobsons have crafted an easy drinking 4.3% stout with underlying liquorice notes, perfect to enjoy on a winter’s night or a great idea for a stocking filler.

The Shropshire Stout pours out blacker than coffee with a small layer of head at the top. During the winter season, this beer makes for a very satisfying experience next to the fire. It has a light toffee smell that almost smells a bit like roasted nuts. For a stout, this has a surprisingly smooth finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

As this expired in January 2015, I am thinking that whatever hops were in here were worked out. Sweet full roasty smell and taste with lots of caramel and a burnt finish. Delicious and full of roasty taste. Honestly tastes close to an imperial stout with only being 4.3% impressive.

Bottle received as a gift. Pours deep black. Strong tangy roasted coffee and nut flavours. A luxurious black beer, very enjoyable.

Konkretny stout. Moze i nie mial piany, moze minimalna byla ale za to glebia czerni mocna pod mocne swiatlo na dnie byl dopiero przeswit, ale po dolaniu osadu juz nic nie przeswitywalo. Palone intensywnie wytrawno gozkie. Jezyny w dalekiej oddali, prazone orzezki. Piwo o niskim procencie ale wydaje sie niesamowicie tresciwe i sycace. Bardzo poprawialo apetyt.

Bottle from Bernie’s Off License, Solihull. More like a black IPA to me rather than a stout. Poured a dark mahogany with a frothy long-lasting light tan head. The aroma is yeast, light malt, light red berry fruit. The flavour is medium bitter with a smooth spice hop pepper light bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation. A super ale. One of the best beers I’ve had from Hobsons, probably "the" best.

Bottle from co-op. Black beer with large frothy head. Aroma of faint liquorice, roasted malts and a touch of coffee. Taste is roasted malts, liquorice hint, charcoal and some hops. Decent.

500ml bottle. Pours very dark brown with a medium head. Aroma is liquorice, coffee and cola. Taste has cola and liquorice to start and a watery cola and coffee finish.

BlackHaddock (12580) - The County Time Forgot, Shropshire, ENGLAND - DEC 17, 2013
500ml Bottle conditioned, BBD 29 Jan 15, poured into a pint glass tankard at home on 17 Dec 13. Really dark body, in fact it’s black, the head a tanned carpet of foam. The nose was mild blend of over roasted malts and well done toast: nothing strong or heavy, just understated maltiness. The taste followed the aroma to the letter, nothing strong or overpowering, just an easy drinking Stout with a malt front and a underbelly of bittering hops in the finish. The liquorice mentioned by the brewery in their promotional information was very ’underlying’, so much so that it was completely hidden until the beer warmed towards the end of my pint. I liked it, even if it didn’t excite my taste buds too much.

imdownthepub (22082) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 10, 2013
Bottle conditioned, 500ml from Morrisons in Banbury. Black with off white head. This proved to be quite a sweetish, fruity beer, not the most Stout like characteristics imo but there is a liquorice background along with a plummy, christmas pudding character. Fullish on the palate, decent enough.
