bierkoning (18836) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - AUG 15, 2021
UPDATED: AUG 15, 2021 Bottle. Almost black. Caramel and a hint of licorice in the aroma. Sweet, roasty flavor with caramel and maple syrup. Slightly alcoholic, licorice.

riggsfc61 (1724) - Franklin, North Carolina, USA - MAR 9, 2021
UPDATED: MAR 9, 2021 Found out of bottle from a store in Rybnik, Poland. Pours an attractive deep dark brown with off tan foam. Strong but pleasant malt aroma. Really enjoyable and interesting flavor that gets better and more flavorful as it warms. Really a great winter- early spring option.

tomekk1978 (2783) - Z±bki, POLAND - JUL 6, 2020
UPDATED: JUL 6, 2020 Aromat - skromny: alkohol chleba, melano, karmel, czekolada. Barwa ciemno czerwona do brązowej, pod światło rubinowa. Zawiera gęstą zawiesinę. Smak umiarkowanie słodki, alkoholowy. Dalej agresywne melano, czekolada gorzka, chleb, karmel. Goryczka słodowo-alkoholowa, powyżej średniej i trochę męcząca.

Idiosynkrasie (13823) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - APR 20, 2020
UPDATED: APR 20, 2020 330ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with slightly late awakening, small to average, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Intense and concentrated, sweet-ish, caramel malty aroma, notes of malt lozenge, hints of treacle, honey with mainly earthy aspects, a touch of rock sugar, herbal overtones, a spicy touch of soy sauce comes in while warming up. Taste is moderately sweet, minimally sugary, condensed, caramel malty, notes of treacle and malt lozenge, earthy hints of dark honey, a touch of rock sugar, a herbal touch as well, whiffs of herb liqueur. Well balanced, not too sweet, well hidden alcohol, relatively easy drinkable. Meets exactly what the style originally was about and is paradigmatic in this respect. (It's a frozen [Doppel-]Bock, not a frozen IIPA or Impy Stout or something else.) Pretty nice.

GregMooreNH (6520) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 1, 2019
UPDATED: JUN 1, 2019 Bottle dated 07/2011, so well aged. Pours hazy dark mahogany with nearly no head (not surprising since it's a true eisbock). Aroma is caramel, dried fruit and light roast. Taste is rich caramel and raisin, moving to almonds, roast and light licorice. Finish is raisin, licorice and some heat. A higher ABV than the traditional Granitbock, but flavor is roughly the same.

JefVerstraete (6023) - BELGIUM - MAR 2, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 2, 2019 Thanks Sebilinz! Dark brown colour, brown foam. Sweet nose of caramel, dried plams. Taste is rather sweet with enough bitterness.

phaleslu (14680) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 22, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 22, 2019 330 ml bottle from Root Cellar. 2011 vintage. Pours a deep, dark cloudy amber with some yeast settling at the bottom and almost no head. Notes of caramel, brown sugar, dates, figs, plums, leaves, earth, soy, cardboard, and booze. Full-bodied, with low carbonation and a heavy, boozy, sweet, malty mouthfeel with a hint of umami. Well past its prime but interesting.

Cristobal37 (2249) - Tustin, California, USA - FEB 5, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 5, 2019 Bottle. Pours dark brown, thin head. Brown sugar, bourbon, plums, caramel, toast aroma. Taste is similar with added annis. Nice rich eisbock. I preferred the Granitbock from Hofstettner, but this is also very well done

JStax (10651) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - JAN 1, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2019 2013 bottle poured into a brandy snifter. The beer is a clear copper brown with a beige head of foam. Sweet and fruity. A bit of grape and malt. Very sweet throughout. Bigger body and medium carbonation.
