UPDATED: JAN 3, 2022 On tap at the brewery. Pours black with a light brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has slightly chalky chocolate and dark grains with a bit of dry roast underlying. Flavor has earthy dark grains and light chocolate with a growing dry roasted malts note backing.

(En fût à la source): Délicats houblons terreux sur riches flocons d'avoine, chocolat et finale adéquatement sèche et rôtie. Très solide qui serait une merveille passée au cask engine.

Black body, with a firm cocoa head. Dry nose of cool black patent, sooty, a touch of dark unsweetened chocolate and coffee. Crisp. The body follows through, sooty black patent dominates, bitter black grains and very dry. Medium-bodied. Ash on the finish sticks to the back of the palate.

UPDATED: JAN 16, 2017 Draught at Elizabeth Station, Bellingham, WA
The color is near black. Dark malts dominate this beer, with biscuity, bready character; there is some chocolate, very light fruity esters; the final is rather dry, but overall it’s smooth and harmonious.
Very good.

Draft 6 oz pour at Holy Mountain. Cola black pour with a soap bubble head to it. A robust malt aroma. Flavor is toasty, but mild as an overall. A bitter reminder late. Interesting take on the porter. An imperial mild if i have a vote. Not bad, but not a flavor I crave.

A really great roasty porter and one of the nicer things I tried here, a good break from the flood of hoppy/tart saisons.
