UPDATED: NOV 10, 2021 Bottle. Amber brown pour. Aroma of caramelized malt, honey, raisin, caramel, figs and yeast esters. Taste has caramelized malt, raisin, caramel, some cheap whisky, honey, yeast esters and dates. Tiny bit oxidized. Recepe has potential, but not well executed.

UPDATED: NOV 20, 2020 Fles. Met rookmout. En dat geeft een heel bijzondere rokerig verbrande nasmaak. As. Gewaagd en geslaagd. Al zal niet iedereen dat lekker vinden. Verder vol in mond, zoetig.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2020 Dark brown colour, beige foam. Nose of dark fruit, caramel, honey and a hint of smoke. Taste is medium sweet but also dry with a smoky hint. Not bad.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2018 Fijn en goed smaken bock bier. Heeft het zoete van de gebruikte honing en van de mouten en daarnaast ook nog een vleugje rook en rood fruit. -backlog de BierApp-

Bottle. Pours a clear brown beer with a medium sized, off white head on top. Aroma of sugary malts, very light hint of honey, some touches of cardboard. Flavor is very, very sweet, loads of malts, some boozy notes, light herbal sweet honey note in the back. Aftertaste is very sweet and cloying mouthfeel. Very basic, bit unbalanced. Meh.

I’m totally surprised to read about smoke; the label doesn’t mention smoke, I don’t smell it, I don’t taste it. (And actually neither do I taste the honey quite well...) The bottle at home pours clear dark-orange to brown, with a tan head that quickly diminishes. Dark malts, some bread and some sweetness in the aroma. Taste is malts, a light sweetness, very very light honey and little bitterness. Both aroma and taste are not very specific and outspoken. That makes the beer lack character.

Clear brown colour with thin, soapy head. Aroma is mostly smoked malts. There’s just a hint of honey sweetness. Flavour is similar. Decent body.

honing valt weg tegen de sterke rooksmaak die een te wrange mond geeft, bij minder rook zou de moutsmaak en de honing tot zijn recht komen ,nu te zwak

Clear copper, off-white lacing foam head. Nice smoked BBQ wood aroma and taste. Don’t know where to find the honey. Very nice beer. (Velp 201604)
