Creamy-coloured, medium head, stable over fully opaque dark brown beer. Inviting dry hops' nose, dry hopbales, bananapeel, dry grains & straw, herbs. Dry hops, more Hessian sacks, active coal, ashes, roast. Ultra dry, taste and feel. Burnt finish, slowly fading. Warming up, hint of human sweat. Medium bodied at best; good carbonation, slick. Another excellent BIPA. 8/4/8/4/15

EvNa (3063) - Ede, NETHERLANDS - DEC 10, 2017
Bottle. Color: Almost black, beige head. Taste: A lot of floral hops, directly followed by dark roasted malt and hints of chocolate. Hopbitter mouthfeel at finish with hints of orange. Medium body, below average carbonation. A very nice black IPA.

DutchDrebus (6999) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - AUG 14, 2017
Bottle @ home. Black with a large light brown head. Smells hops, roasty, dark malts. Tastes harsh bitter, roasty, dark malts, chocolate, hops. The bitter is too much in your face for me. Medium body, nice carbo.

thanatosti (3551) - Culemborg, NETHERLANDS - AUG 11, 2017
33cl. bottle @ home, gift from Alex and Susanne. Black with a beige head. Roasted malts aroma with hops. Bittersweet taste. Quite alike to my homebrewn black IPA, so I guess I really like this style.

DijkBier (2262) - AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - JUL 23, 2017
Bottle at home pours deep dark near-black, with frothy beige head. Aroma is primarily very soft, then develops a little; dark malts, light choco or syruppy, and grassy hops. Taste is less than medium sweet and medium bitter, even getting more towards the finish; licorice, light cocoa. Rather soft carbonation. Nice beer, but I expected more of it. Wouldn’t categorize this as black IPA, by the way...

Draft at De La Gare. Black with a tan head. Aroma of fruity hops, citrus, grass and dark roasty malts. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Benzai (20022) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - JUL 3, 2017
Bottle @ home. Opaque dark brown to black color with a full sized beige to light brown head. Aroma is very promising: a nice mix of malts dark mlts, slight roast and nice hoppy influence. Taste malts, dark malts, roasted malts, nicely hoppy. Now that it warms up though there’s a sort of rough smokyness coming through that annoys me a bit. Malty bitter. Turns out it’s less good in the end than I had hoped upon opening it. Started out quite nice but in the end it’s less good imo.

Countbeer (6586) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - JUN 14, 2017
Bottle: Chouffe glass: Large beige creamy head. Black body. Nose is a mix of roast, vanilla, hops, hop fruit, floral, light liquorice, harsher floral/herbal hop tints, light light tobacco and medicine... Flavour is chalky, roast, hops, hop fruit, herbal, bitter, rye, malt roast, light peach/citrus tints... Aftertaste is bitter, herbal, roast and hop... Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied.

caesar (7642) - Bunnik, NETHERLANDS - APR 11, 2017
Bottle from Mitra Bunnik, batch 17012 BB April 2018, 33 cl sample. Dark brown color, medium frothy head. Aroma of dark fruit, piney hops and a bit of dark bread. Medium bitterness in taste, piney and fruity at first. In the finish more dry and grainy biscuit. Plenty going on here. Very tasty, also considering the ABV. Velvety texture. One of the better Hommeles brews!
