UPDATED: JAN 9, 2022 Can in månedskassen. It pours dark brown with a small beige head. Loads of ripe fruity notes. Dates, prune, candid sugar, oak, sweet caramel malts, toffee and vanilla with a warming boozy finish. Long ripe fruity finish.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2021 Deep dark amber color out of the bottle. No real head. Sweet malty nose. This is a complex mess of flavors. Caramels, alcohol, toffee candies, and malt syrup. The abv is well hidden. Really good beer.

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2021 Expensive 12oz can pours with a mahogany colored body that supports no head at all, just air. The aroma pulses with booze from feet away. On closer inspection I get notes of booze soaked fig, brown sugar dusted raisins, some molasses and a faint sense of kettle caramelization toward the end of the draw. The next whiff is inexplicably largely just boozy bourbon barrel character. Smells fine. The taste delivers a fairly luscious full body across the palate in spite of the barrel treatment, nice! I get molasses drenched figs, prunes and a bit of date plowing slowly toward the reduced sugars of molasses and a faint sense of caramel. To midway a supple bourbon barrel booziness bubbles to the surface and mingles seamlessly with the tasty beer flavors. Wow, this is a great sipper with great balance and depth and a pleasing mild boozy warming sensation into the after taste. I may need more of this.

UPDATED: NOV 10, 2021 Bomber from Tavour. Pours a very, very dark red - have to use strong light to see through it - with a slight tan head. Aroma of kandi, dark fruit and bourbon. Full bodied. Flavor is heat, kandi, dark fruit (cherry?), bourbon, roasty (but not toasty or burnt) malt. There's a little spice making rum come to mind. Not dry. Bitter tho. Extremely good flavor.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2021 bomber from tavour. beautiful clear very dark caramel color with maroon highlights, sweet boozy nose, creamy, sweet boozy barleywine-like caramel vanilla, complex, melded great.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2021 Aromas of belgian yeast belgian candi sugar brown sugar toasted turbinado sugars oak bourbon dried apricots pear port wine dessert wine and sweet fermentable sugars. Taste is remarkable sweet port wine belgian yeast belgian kandi sugar malted barley bourbon barrel wood oak aged wort syrup cough syrup slick molasses sweet fermentable sugars brown sugar toasted turbinado sugar creme brulee blackberries apricots plums prunes and deep cherry. Overall, wow, what a monster of a brew. A huge achievement and the brewers should be proud. Happy anniversary Hoppin Frog & thank you!

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2021 Sample at Hoppin’ Frog during the Rare Beer Club party on 9/26/21. Clear brown pour with no head. Aroma of malt, caramel, booze and toffee. Malty and caramelly flavor giving way to bourbon before a sweet toffee finish.
