tmoreau (7963) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - OCT 11, 2021
UPDATED: OCT 11, 2021 Shared pint can poured to a small snifter showing a black/brown hue, with a decent layer of deep tan froth, and foamy spots & strands of lacing. The nose was roasted, maltiness, mocha notes, a wisp of salty soy, licorice, treacle, and a bit of smoke. Full bodied, the taste was as the aroma notes, with low carbonation, bourbony booze, and roasted, tannic, & earthy bitterness.

juiceisloose (3665) - Windermere, Florida, USA - SEP 20, 2021
UPDATED: SEP 20, 2021 16 oz can. Pours a thick, oily pitch black color and capped by a mid sized tan layer of foam that slowly settles to a thin film and coats the glass in lace. The aroma is nice showing notes of rich, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, burnt toffee, and deep charred oak over a darkly roasted malt base with heavy notes of bourbon and oak laden vanilla. The flavor shows much the same with the rich, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and toffee up front and balanced out nicely by the deep bourbon oak and vanilla notes from the barrel with a firm bitterness on the back end. Full bodied and fairly smooth with average carbonation that leads to a bitter sweet and rich, dark chocolate, earthy roast, and bourbon oak on the finish. The extended aging adds loads of depth and smoothness without any real barrel heat. Really well done and damn good stuff here.
