alexsdad06 (16451) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - NOV 22, 2021
UPDATED: NOV 22, 2021 12 oz. bottle from JaBier. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small disappearing tan head. The aroma and flavor have dark fruits, plum, raisins, light roast, chocolate, caramel, pretty sweet so the alcohol is mostly hidden, some warmth, hints of spice, this is a good beer but even at 12 ounces, is best to share.

Kita (3655) - Koper, SLOVENIA - NOV 14, 2021
UPDATED: NOV 14, 2021 Bottle, 0.355l. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, plums and whiskey. Pours almost black color with thin quickly diminishing light brown head. Tastes of sweet and rich roasted malt, plums, raisins, whiskey and chocolate, mouthfeel is warm alcoholic, while finish is medium bitter. Full body, syrupy texture and light to average carbonation in palate. Plumster…

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2021 0.355 l bottle shared with Kermis and Ogi at Goblet Beer Store, Zagreb. Oily dark, minimal head. Aroma is dark fruit, prunes, petroleum, glue, chocolate rum candy. Alcohol. Quite rich. Smooth, medium to full body. Drinkable. Blueberry liqueur flavour. Moderate finish.

colui72 (3437) - Yuen Long, HONG KONG - JUL 18, 2021
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2021 2020 (17%) Aroma of dark fruits, coffee, soy sauce, chocolate. Doesn't feel dangerous... naive me! Dark brown close to black, a small beige head, with excellent retention around the glass, good laces as well. Low bitterness, and medium sweetness. Strong on plums (or better said prunes, and other dried fruits such as raisins). Chocolate and coffee notes. Good balance between flavours. Thick, viscous, medium carbonation, evilily boozy. A sipper. Solid, tasty, very strong. A great sipper or a suicide weapon.

UPDATED: JUN 27, 2021 Bottle picked up from Beerdome webshop Grootegast Netherlands and consumed in Frank (camper), Mittenwald, campervan area (nr Railway Station), Saturday 26th June 2021 after a 17km loop walk, Mittenwald - Schanz - Lautersee. Btw I am on the 2020 version of this which hits the giddy heights of 17%. Pours to all intents and purposes black, to some it may be very dark brown. Light tan head that swiftly departed.. Aroma is big on chocolate, bourbon (or whisky, I forget what BA this is), molasses, black treacle and sweet dried fruits Tastes a little boozy, molasses, fruit (plum I guess) chocolate, whisky, it's all here. Surprisingly drinkable for the abv. Good.

minutemat (11726) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - JUN 3, 2021
UPDATED: JUN 3, 2021 Bottle shared @ monthly beer share, Chez Sophie May 21. First share after the 5 month lockdown and the final beer of the night. Pours dark, deep tan head. Strong malty boozy nose. Clearly this is way too strong. Who buys and drinks 17% beers? Very strong on the palate with some plummy echoes. Fucked us all up for the walk home.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2021 17th May 2021 Shrewsbury Beer Share in Chez Sophie; four of us splitting 14 beers and eating snacks. A fun evening, although the Polish Strawberry flavoured 'Flips' didn't go down too well. Cheers simon for the 17% 2020 version of this, our last beer of the session. Plummy, boozy and goodnight all.

Idiosynkrasie (13823) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAY 7, 2021
UPDATED: MAY 7, 2021 355ml bottle. Jet black colour with minimally late awakening, small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Roasty, chocolately, dark malty and yeasty fruity, minimally yeasty spicy aroma, notes of dark chocolate, dark caramel, hints of plum butter, plum wine, raisin, a marmite touch. Taste is sweet-ish and bitter roasty, chocolately dark malty, yeasty spicy and yeasty fruity, quite alcoholic, notes of couverture, chocolate sauce, dark chocolate, caramel, treacle, plum butter, plum wine, a touch of marmite; warming, bitter alcoholic finish. Viscous texture, smooth, soft, cloying palate, fine, soft carbonation. This is simply too much to be a real pleasure: surely a challenge for the brewer, but in no way advantageous for the consumer. Absurd amount of alcohol - rather a gimmick than a beverage.

nearbeer (7699) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - APR 8, 2021
UPDATED: APR 8, 2021 12 ounce, 2020 vintage clocks in at 17% abv. Pours ebony with a glint of magenta in the highlights. Head sizzles down fairly quickly to a ring and small film of bubbles. Aroma has bread pudding, chocolate, molasses, whiskey, raisin and a faint hint of soy sauce. Tastes of merlot, vanilla, blackstrap molasses, earthy cocoa, soy sauce and wood. Medium-plus bodied with low-medium carbonation. Abv shows a bit in a peppery finish, but still fairly well contained for 17%. Leans a tad to the sweet side.
