UPDATED: OCT 27, 2021 Kolor złoty z lekką mgiełką. Piana biała średnio wysoka i podobnie średnio trwała. Pozostawia odrobinę zdobień. Aromat słodki słodowy z nutą owocową i kolendrą. W tle odrobina akcentów trawiastych, siano. Smak umiarkowanie słodki w charakterze słodowy. Wysycenie wysokie, mi przeszkadza. Ciało wysokie, pełne. Tekstura gładka, miękka. Posmak długi słodki z nutą kolendry.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2021 Optisch nimmt man ein helles, aber sattes trübes Gelb mit leicht grünlichen Reflexen wahr. Sanfte feinporige Perlage füttert die weiße, feinporige Schaumkrone, welche einen wässerigen und wenig haltbaren Charakter aufweist. Die Duftaromatik zeigt sich sehr fein, fruchtig-floral hefig und erinnert mit seiner leichten Würze an aromatischen, fruchtigen Weißwein. Im Antrunk macht sich bereits ein feiner fruchtiger, angenehm frischer und leicht säuerlicher Hefecharakter breit. Die starke Rezenz wirkt dabei jedoch unpassend. Am Gaumen ziemlich vollmundig, fruchtig-hefig mit Noten von Aprikose, Banane, eventuell auch Akazienhonig und leichte Anklänge von Zitrusfrüchten, die das leicht säuerliche Spektrum abdecken. Nach den Dufterlebnissen bleibt eine leichte idee von fruchtigem Weißwein - immerhin finden sich auch darin ziemlich oft sehr ähnliche Aromen. Zusammen mit einer ganz guten Würze und einer sehr zarten Herbe macht das ein durchaus gutes Bild. Ganz banal gesagt, ist das der Grüne Veltliner (Smaragd) unter den Bieren. Die hohe Rezenz hemmt das Trinkerlebnis, das Mundgefühl und die Süffigkeit aber enorm, wobei man aber auch den leicht cremigen Charakter erwähnen muss. Im Abgang bleibt die fruchtig-hefige Aromatik gut stehen und hält sehr sehr lange an. Von Würze und Herbe ist nichts zu spüren. Und ja, es macht durchaus Lust auf einen nächsten Schluck - aber eher auf einen kleinen Nipper, da Rezenz und Aufschäumen doch etwas zu übertrieben sind. Aber rein aromatisch echt gut. So fein und elegant die Duftaromatik kommt, so schwierig lässt sich dieses Bier trinken. Wäre das ein ausgewogener Fluss von Anfang bis Ende, wäre dieses Bier unglaublich.

UPDATED: SEP 18, 2021 330ml Bottle from REWE Supermarket, Saarburg, Germany. Aged for around 1 year. Hazy straw coloured with a thin white head of foam. It has a smooth, spicy fruity and yeasty flavour with lemon notes, vanilla and slight soapy fruit on the warming finish. Ok for the high ABV.

UPDATED: SEP 11, 2021 Robe blond voilée, belle carbo fine et véloce, belle mousse bien tenace, blanc en neige. Nez typé ale belge : fruits jaunes, levure, fermentation, sucre, pointe d'alcool, assez subtil. Attaque : banane, épices légères, levure, belle rondeur, un peu d'alcool en finale. Très bien typée, assez équilibrée et subtile. Pas mal du tout.

UPDATED: JUL 11, 2021 33cl bottle - was expecting a baltic porter. You can imagine the look on my face when it poured like it did. Strong Belgian ale yup. That's all folks. Clean. Malt liquor finish.

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2021 'Insel-Brauerei Baltic Ale', Fläschchen. - Helles Goldbraun, leicht trüb; unmäßiger Schaum. - In der Nase satte süßlich-herbe (kandierte) Zitronenschale, obergärige Hefe, Kandissüße aber kaum Hopfen, insofern schon Belgien-typisch. - Im Antrunk schweres, sehr süßes helles Malz, etwas grelle zitronige, adstringierende herbe Frucht (Quitte) und beträchtliche Restsüße - der Traubenzucker ist wohl nicht 'vollständig vergoren', sondern schmeckt deutlich heraus. Milder rezent, vollmundig. Im Abgang blasse zitronige Herbe, leicht holzig. - Holprige Imitation eines belgischen Starkbieres, zu rauh und süß, ohne die runde Raffinesse der Vorbilder. Kein Genuß. UPDATED: JUN 10, 2021 Bottle at Mathews tasting. Pours clear yellow with medium white head. Aroma is a confusing mix of brown ale and wheat beer with notes of caramel, malt, cloves, chalk, bananas and nutmeg. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is oily with chalky notes and soft carbonation. Finish is sweet, spicy, chalky and has notes of mint, caramel and cloves.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2021 13-05-2021; bottle; at the Swedish house (bought somewhere in Germany). The looks of the beer are nice. It is a golden yellow beer, crystal clear with a frothy white head. Foam retention is average. A nice drape is left on the beer, so is some nice lacing on the glass. Looks tasty and traditional. The aroma of the beer is nice. The malts give some nice bready notes, with also some honey and biscuit. Not too special. Hops are floral a bit herbal. Nice pairing with the malts. Yeast gives some nice fruity aromas, such as banana. It also has a spicy notes. They are right for a Belgian Ale style beer. Nothing out of the ordinary or special, just well executed. The taste of the beer is also nice. Sweet malts, bitter hops and nice slight acidity and savory note. It is very well balanced. The floral notes of the hops are nice and smooth, seeming to give some extra balance. Nice. The mouthfeel is also nice. Again, nothing special, just well done. Medium body, smooth texture and medium carbonation. The finish is nice and filled with some nice floral hops, sweet malts and some alcohol sweetness. Also a nice spicy touch from the yeast is in there. All in all, it is a very decent beer. Well made.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2021 Pours a light and slightly hazy yellow. Aroma is slightly acidic, herbal, malty. Medium body. Smooth, sweet, herbal, malty. Very easy-drinking and smooth.
