kapusil (2195) - Budapest, HUNGARY - DEC 29, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2021 0.75l bottle thanks to Lore. Hazy brown body with a beigeish head. Aroma and taste of dried prunes, sour cherry, cocoa, raisins, burnt sugar and orange zest. The alcohol is much more pronounced than you'd expect from a dubbel, but still a nice beer.

Lore (5131) - Budapest, HUNGARY - DEC 29, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2021 brown colour, medium sized beige-ish head; aroma of plum jam, dried sour cherry, cocoa and over-roasted rye bread; taste is a bit watery with similar notes as can be felt in the aroma with spicy alcoholic notes; not bad

Gangstergafje (2697) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - MAY 13, 2021
UPDATED: MAY 13, 2021 13-05-2021; bottle; at the Swedish house (bought somewhere in Germany). The looks of the beer are nice. It is a chestnut colored beer with a dark amber glow. The beer has a nice cloudiness. On top there is a nice layer of frothy light brownish white foam. Foam retention is average and a nice thin drape is left on the beer. A minimal lacing is left on the glass. The aroma of the beer is nice. Mals give caramel and some toffee. Also some nice notes of rye bread. Also a nice touch of licorice is there, together with some roast. Hops are nice and herbal, together with some leafy notes. Quite nice. Yeast gives some spicy and banana notes. Not bad. The taste is also nice. Sweet malts, bitter hops and some touches of savory roast. Yeast seems to give a minimal acidity too, resulting in a well balanced beer. The palate of the beer is nice. Medium body, smooth texture and medium low carbonation. The finish of the beer has some alcohol warmth in it and some roast and herbal hops, together with a licorice note. All in all, it is a nice beer. Not bad.

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2021 The beer's color is an incredibly rich, deep brown which almost hinges on maroon. The head is an impressive frothy white and climbs up the glass quite quickly, while taking quite some time to come back down. When it does, it laces the glass with an incredible sticky quality which hints at what's inside. The aroma is of dried fruits, caramelly malts and molasses. It begs you to dive in. Once you do, you're met with a substantial mouthfeel and a heavy punch of dried fruits. Raisins, plums and a hint of figs gives this beer a slightly sweet, supple flavor. It finishes very malty prompting you to smack your mouth as you dive in for another sip. Overall, it's a pretty decadent beer that has fantastic staying power. Hard for me to have more than one, as it is a heavy dubbel, but was very enjoyable. And again, the bottle design and 'bag' look is a really cool differentiator that Insel has carved out for themselves.

Troll (233) - Odense, DENMARK - DEC 28, 2020
UPDATED: DEC 28, 2020 Look: Pours cloudy dark amber with a small quick gone tan head. Nose: Malts, brown sugar, molasses, bread, cacao. Taste: Malts, chocholate/cacao, grass, medium bitterness in the aftertaste, quite dry. Overall: Nice and very drinkable, not your typical 'belgian'.

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2020 bam! fruit & alcohol. sort of like a heavy dunkles weissenbier. despite the heavy alcohol more of an easy drinking beer than a complex beer to slowly enjoy flavour and sip. good for when you want to get quickly drunk on a hot summer night....

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2020 330ml Bottle from REWE Supermarket, Saarburg, Germany. Hazy dark brown-amber coloured with a thin white head. It has a dried fruit, wine and liquorice flavour with a chocolate, nutty and warming roasted finish. Good.
