Boozey bourbon nose, roasted dark malts, dark chocolate, nice raspberry essence as well as vanilla. Boozy. Pours dark brown black with a tan head. Flavors of roasted dark malts, sweet vanilla notes, lots and lots of bourbon, raspberry notes throughout. Roasty finish. Nice flavors, very boozy.

Poured from 22oz bottle. Pours dark brown, nearly black. Almost no head. Aroma is tart raspberries and some dark chocolate. The taste is tart raspberries and dried cherries. It is hard to tell if there is infection on this thing or if it is just sour fruit. EIther way, the tart characteristics take over the flavor here.

Taster on tap at Jackie-O’s 7th. From what I understand, the version I had was a 2008 vintage, aged in bourbon barrels. From what I experienced, it was very good. Black color, good khaki head, good lace. Nice tart taste, not too tart though, little bitter sweetness. Good roastiness. Nice black berry. Bigger body, dry texture. Crisp carbonation. Delicious.

this is what i was looking for w the imporoved mouthfeel and palate compared to its non-BA partner. this is just one helluva brew. adding mellow bourbon vanilla flavor to the original. kudos, JOs

22 oz. bottle from Puddintane- thanks again, David! 2010 vintage. Bottle 89/156. Pours a dark, cloudy brown-amber with a small beige ring for a head. Aroma of bourbon, olives, raspberries, oak, and brown sugar. Flavor of bourbon, berry fruits, caramel malts, brown sugar, oak, earth, and plums. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, gritty mouthfeel. This is a weird one. Not bad, though.

Draft during the 5th Anniversary party. Pours black with some small bubbles. The aroma has dark malts, a hint of vanilla, raspberry and cherry fruits, oak and mild bourbon notes. The flavor is raspberry, vanilla, roasted malts, chocolate, oak with the bourbon enhancing rather than dominating. Alcohol is there, but not distracting. This was one of my favorites. I noticed a slight amount of art character to the bottle we opened. Everything else was very similar.

Bottle courtesy of alexsdad06. Pours dark brown with some off white bubbles. Smells of cherries, oak, some bourbony notes, some acidic sourness creeping in. Tastes of oak, vanilla, cognac, spicy, some bourbon hints with a nice dry oaky finish.

Consumed at a recent DC area tasting. Served in a SAVOR snifter. Bottle 39/156. Pours a very dark brown color with a thin light tan head that recedes quickly without lacing after a fairly-hard initial pour. The nose is a bit musty with oak and some dry tannins. There is a mild raspberry presence in the nose, but this is taken over a bit by the roast and oak. The flavor contains quite a bit more raspberry and dials the barrel character down a little bit, but the barrel presence is still too strong, leaving the finish too dry and tannic. Overall, pretty good, but not my favorite of the Jackie O’s barrel-aged releases. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-30-2011

opaque brown, thin active beige head. Nose of bourbon, raspberry arsenic. Flavor is chocolate cake, raspberry, more balance but Partially because of muted quality. Bit ashy. Pleasant. Like a messy cherry cab man.
