Leaves good, thicker lace. Awesome bourbon, raspberry aroma in the nose. Moderate sweet taste. Very light heat. Light dry, slightly tart. Nice creme. Very nice stuff. Awesome.

JaBier (12380) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - JUN 22, 2014Sample at the Public House on 6/20/14. Haven’t had this one since the 4th Anniversary Extravaganza when I had a cold and wasn’t tasting much. Pours a clear dark amber with a medium beige head. Aroma of malt, bourbon and raspberry. Flavor starts with raspberry, then moves to malt and bourbon before a slightly sour raspberry finish.
Caterwaul (83) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 21, 2014Holy crap. Hooooooly crap. Draft at the public house. Pours a dark, cloudy pink-purple. Thin head reasts on top and dissipates quickly. Taste and nose are dense with chocolate, vanilla, blackberry and raspberry. Sweet and fruity, creamy and yummy. Tastes just like Graeter’s Black Raspberry Chocolate Chunk ice cream. Medium-full body. drinks easily and REALLY sneaks up. It is easily my favorite beer I’ve had in the past month. maybe in the past year.

Tasted on 4/28/12 with the Nashville and Knoxville crews at Curtis’ old house, big thanks to JR for bringing this one. Pours hazy burnt orange with no head, but a thin bubbly collar of lace. The nose is super dry and funky brett with tart raspberry, vanilla, maple, and caramel bourbon. The flavor is the same, a nice marriage of dry brett funk, bourbon barrel, and tart raspberry. The body is full with light carbonation and a long, dry, brett funk, bourbon barrel, and tart raspberry finish.

Damico (3146) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 8, 2013Pours thick unclear amber with no head. Aroma is very light, a bit of yeast fruitiness. Flavor is still hot bringing the bourbon barrels and raspberries with some syrupy malts all blended well together.

The aroma has big raspberry fruit with a tart character, caramel malts, bourbon, wood and vanilla. The flavor has more of the caramel malt coming through, bourbon, tart raspberry, wood and vanilla. The alcohol does show a bit, but is mostly warming.
