DrSilverworm (11039) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 23, 2021
UPDATED: MAR 23, 2021 [Uploaded from backlog - 1/17/2018]. 12.7oz bottle, for like $16, from Country Fresh on Vine St. Steph says she tastes fudge. Cinnamon. I know that there's honey in there from reading about it, but I taste it too, mixed in with dark chocolate fudge, some nuttiness, little spiciness. Interesting flavor, like a big imperial stout but soaked in a heavy dose of honey flavor, though not as sweet as expected. A little bit of sweet bite on the end but not big bodied sticky cloying sweetness like I've had in some 'super-stouts' that turned out undrinkable. Medium-plus body, imperial-porter-like thickness to it, just short of the imperial stout texture that Jackie-O's has, without being sticky on the back end. Interesting stuff -- probably the biggest, authenticly honey-like honey dark-beer I've ever had, but it's more of a novelty than a game-changer, and not one I'd ever consider repeating at the price... Once I put a cup of Steph's home-made ice cream next to it though... And put a splash of Antik into it... Perfection!
