Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dusty, wood, alcohol - grappa - apple. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, licorice, wood, dark malt, chocolate, dry, apple - grape - wood. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic - grappa. [20161111]

Bottle @ Lots of Mark Knofler and Fransk’ kartofler, Ulfborg 2016. Bottle 216/300. Pours black with a creamy beige head and lacings. Vinous and deep nose. Woody with quite some grappa characther. Roasted and dry flavor with dark dried fruit and ashes. Harsh rough bitter roasted finish.

Bottle, #216 , 9%. Almost black with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, dark fruit, ash and hop. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, medium sweet, licorice, wood, brandy and medium bitter.

Bottle @ Fonefan US Tasting. Pours pitch black with a small creamy brown head. Aromas of heavy grappa, chocolate, dust, caramel, booze, tannins, roast. Taste is roasty, dusty, caramel, fudge, light grappa, chocolate, bittersweet roasty finish.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Black with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, licorice and wood. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. Lacks body. 111116

Bottle @Ulfborg. Black with small light tan head. Woody, roasted aroma, notes of what could be grappa. Flavour has mild roast and alcohol. Light body.

Bottle @ Ulfborg. Pours pitch black with a a small tan head. Aroma of soy, licorice, light coffee, salty licorice, light soapy. Taste is rather sweet, bitter, salty, soy, dried fruits, with a soapy note.

Black color with brownish head. In this beer the roasted malts are well combined with the grappa; it’s quite dry but smooth, with some salty liquorice feeling; the aroma is a bit animal, sheep fur; not much bitterness; there are some ashes.<bt>Interesting, different.
