COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Last year when we were making 2016 Aurelian Lure, we took a portion of the batch and put it in two ~225L Calvados barrels. After about a year of aging, we blended the barrels, and naturally refermented the blend in bottles and kegs. Calvados Barrel Aged Aurelian Lure is unfiltered, unpasteurized, 6.4 percent alcohol by volume, 10 IBU, 3.4 pH, and has a finishing gravity of 1.003 (0.75 degrees Plato). It was packaged on April 18th, 2017.

UPDATED: AUG 9, 2021 RBSG 2017. Cloudy golden-orange pour with a small white head. Pretty funk beer. Apple, brandy, and grape start things off. There's a bit of a sweetness of caramel and vanilla to it as well. Sweet and sour apricot, plenty of oak, and a lot of sour citrus fruits (lemon and grapefruit).

Cloudy peach orange in color... Thin whitish head... Aroma of Calvados barrel, apricots, funk... Flavor is soft, creamy almost, unlike most sours I’ve had... Maybe a bit thin on the body, but pleasant, light funk, barrel presence on palate... Acidity is very mild, juicy apricots linger on finish... Really nice variant of AL ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at Gold Star Beer Counter. Courtesy of Phil and rest of the crew. Thanks! Hazy orange, small white head. Nice moderate sourness, calvados, dry, citrus, peach, lemon, not that complex, very nice aroma. Soft texture. Medium bodied.

(330ml bottle) clear deep gold, fine edge bubbles. Nose of tons of juicy apricot, heavy lacto, neat barrel treatment, very complex bug mixture. Taste is a touch acetic but minimally so, juicy ripe and dried apricot, lacto, the apple brandy comes out in the taste.

Now here is a rare one. Sampled at the RBSG. Pours a hazy gold with a white head. Nose of funk, stone fruit, wood, and booze. Light to medium body. Flavor shows apricot, strong tartness, good flavors from the barrel aging. This was downright delicious.

Sexy little bottle pours out a golden color topped with a white head. Nose is nice funky stone fruit some barrel spice. Taste is more of the nice sour funky stone fruit and a good barrel balance.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange gold with small white head that lasts. The aroma is stone fruit, oak, funk, apple brandy. Thin body, apricot purée, nice sweetness from the brandy, very tart, enjoyed this.
