Clear amber beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, slightly soft and very slightly viscous, reasonable fine carbonation. A mild peaty nose, as much fruity and nothing that would put off a peat dodger like me. Smooth malts, silky creamy malts with touches of caramel and toffee. The rest follows the nose but with more intensity. A smooth light peaty vibe, no outright medical sticky aids. Nice ripe fruity orchard fruits with a very mild estery undertone. Finishes smooth with a mild tingling spice. Very good indeed for a peaty ba barleywine.

UPDATED: JUN 27, 2019 Lovely aroma of smoke, peat, dried fruit, plums, raisins. Dark mahony brown colour, thin layer of beige foam. Sweet, smoky and fruity. Very well balanced. Great barley wine!

33cl bottle, courtesy of Gyhallmanti. Appearance: murky dark brown with small sized off-white head. Aroma: lots of iodine, red fruits, some smoke, fruit esters and peat. Taste: high sweetness and medium bitterness. Notes of iodine, smoke, peat, caramel and fruits. Palate: medium bodied, sticky texture and medium carbonation. Too much iodine in this, unfortunately. Disappointing

33cl bottle split with SimonBlok. Pours a dark mahogany color with almost no head. Aroma of smokey whisky, betadine, iodine, slight rye, dark malt, caramel, slight cream. Taste is medium to high sweet, soft bitter with a moderate dry finish. Notes of betadine, iodine, smokey whisky, molasses, syrup, candy sugar. Texture is thick, full bodied with soft carbonation

UT050218. 33cl bottle at home from Burg Bieren, Ermelo. Nose is Peaty. Smoky raisin herbs leather. Heavy sweet light bitter light fruity sour. Medium lasting fruity medium sweet, boozy. Full body oily no carb. 846416

Bottle. Brown-ish pour. Aroma of smokey peat, rye, raisin, malt, iodine and ripe fruit. Taste of savory peat, mild spices, ripe fruit, caramel fudge, smoke, bandaid, salty caramel and a long boozy smokey scotch heavy finish. Just what I hoped for, very nice.

Bottle. Color: Red brown, very thin creme head. Taste: Medium sweet, heavy notes of whisky, smoke, peat, spices and wood. Pretty dry mouthfeel. Above medium body, average carbonation. Bit unbalanced. Nice beer for slow sipping on a quiet evening.

LCI. Uit de fles geschonken. Mooie peated BA Don't tRYE uit de bekende serie. Gedroogd fruit en een heerlijke peated en hout in smaak en geur. Heerlijk!
