COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer on the moon sucks. Ask Cthulhu - he knows the gravity’s too low. Partial to an oxymoron, when he’s thirsty he always reaches for a Kaiju! Black IPA.... and destroys it.

UPDATED: AUG 30, 2021 Can - black-brown with thin tan head. Good citrus aroma with touch of chocolate. Good mouthfeel. Citrus mainly tasting but liquorice and chocolate tinges. Good lacing. Very drinkable black ipa.

aussiealchemist (121) - Officer Victoria, AUSTRALIA - APR 25, 2021
UPDATED: APR 25, 2021 Pours very dark brown, almost black with a small cream head. Low carbonation. Aroma is mostly roast grains with some subtle hop. Flavour is dominated by the roast grains, with lots of the usual suspects like liquorice, coffee, chocolate etc. There's a nice pine/citrus hop note as well that cuts through. Taste is solidly bitter with an underlying sweetness to balance. Mouthful is thinish, not oily. The bitterness fades quickly on the palate. Overall a very good black ipa as to be expected from this brewer.

UPDATED: APR 22, 2021 22/4/2021. Can sample courtesy of SHIG, cheers! Pours black with a small frothy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, citrus, hops, coffee, liquorice, pine. Moderate sweetness and medium plus bitterness. Medium body, slight creamy texture, soft carbonation. A very nicely done BIPA.

SHIG (10003) - Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, ENGLAND - APR 10, 2021
UPDATED: APR 10, 2021 Poured a deep brown almost black with orange edges, head is off white. Aroma is rich hops, roasted malts. Taste is bitter hops, slaps the taste buds, leaves way to roasted malts.

reidyboy (689) - Shrewsbury, Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 4, 2021
UPDATED: MAR 4, 2021 Liquorice, there’s definitely liquorice. And coffee. And citrusy hops. An ebony coloured pour with a frothy tan head, and mild coffee on the nose, and the liquorice of course. The mouthfeel has a fizzy edge to it, but there’s also a smooth, creamy feel to it. Taste wise it’s roasted malt and bitter, citrus hops arm-wrestling, with that liquorice refereeing, and dry citrusy bitterness winning through into the finish

crcollinho (264) - - FEB 12, 2021
UPDATED: FEB 12, 2021 Black. Smells more like stout than IPA, lots of coffee on the nose. Tastes like burnt coffee beans and stout. Not especially hoppy, or unpleasant for that matter.

Salian (1480) - Sale, Cheshire, ENGLAND - FEB 3, 2021
UPDATED: FEB 3, 2021 Good beer, not too roasty, lots of flavour and a pretty thin body meaning it's light, refreshing and easy drinking.

berkshirejohn (8771) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 31, 2021
UPDATED: JAN 31, 2021 [375ml can from Beer52's Australia box] A glossy peaty brown pour with a bright chestnut gleam and a loose cream coloured head; aroma of pine resin and charred grains; deeply bitter taste with lots of resinous hop and deeply roasted malts. Really enjoyable, but a little one dimensional as there's little to counter the bitterness.

thevortex (585) - , SCOTLAND - JAN 29, 2021
UPDATED: JAN 29, 2021 Black with a beige head. Roasty malt, light liquorice and pine aroma, meduim body, smooth, citrusy, pine, a decent BIPA
