Tidal Series. A favorite morning stop of ours since we moved into the neighborhood a few years ago is Rook Coffee Roasters of Monmouth County; conveniently located just around the corner from the brewery. They roast and brew their coffees with the same dedication to quality and craftsmanship that we focus on here at Kane. We couldn’t think of a better group of like minded people to work with on a collaborative project. The result is Morning Bell, our imperial milk porter brewed with their dark roast Sumatra coffee. We added a healthy amount of milk sugar to an already complex, dark malt bill to sweeten and balance the bold flavors and roasty bitterness of the coffee. The result of this collaboration is a full bodied porter with big bold flavors and remarkable smoothness. Style: Imperial Milk Coffee Porter Malt: Marris Otter, Munich, Roasted Barley, Medium Crystal & Chocolate Sugars: Lactose Hops: Magnum Yeast: American ABV: 9.2% IBU: 26 SRM: 39

Bottle from a trade. Many thanks! Pours pitch black, brown foam. Nose is coffee with sugar and milk. Very sweet, roasty and milky (lactose). Taste is like drinking cold coffee with milk and sugar. Not really things I'm looking for in a beer. A well made beer for those who likes it but I couldn't finish my glass.

There’s a very real risk that this is unrateable, because it tastes so much like coffee. After drinking a bottle, I definitely felt like I’d had a fair amount of beer, but the whole time I only tasted fresh roasted coffee. The lactose only adds to the impression, giving a bit of balancing sweetness and body.

Rating my last beer at the shep. The aroma is amazing, it makes you wonder "where are my waffles?" as you sniff the heavenly smell of coffee. Well my friend, there are not waffles here - just amazing beer and the sound of a cocktail shaker. Kane has hit it out of the park and into a draft glass with this one. Amazing coffee flavor that will last you until your case of the Mondays. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Dark brown pour, with a tan head. Heavy roast, gritty burnt coffee, drip coffee, burnt bread, ash, and some sweetness.
