UPDATED: JAN 11, 2022 --Bottled, thanks koelschtrinker! Deep mahogany colour, firm mid sized head. Aroma of dates, brown sugar and dark bread. Mid sweet with medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Dark bread and hay. Fairly low bitterness. Relaxed and moreish.

UPDATED: JUL 23, 2021 Aroma had sulphur, roasted malt, caramel and chocolate. Over the palate came roasted malt, chocolate, rye bread, grassy hops and caramel.

UPDATED: JUN 30, 2021 Draft 0.5l at Kathi Brau, at the source, Germany. 29.6.2021. Pour ir dark amber color with medium white head. Aroma light nutty note. Taste smooth easy drinkable,n light nutty note, some light caramel notes, light cooper flavor kind if thing, light body and long lasting flavor.

UPDATED: MAY 31, 2021 Draft at the source on the back leg of the Bierwanderung. Almost black. Sudsy, off-white head. Not much of an aroma as served, which was probably a bit too cold. Later, some nuttiness and licorice. Taste is bittersweet. Medium bodied, decent chewiness. Not bad but not enough depth to push this one further.

Tap @ Kathi Braü, Heckenhof. Pours Dark amber with a small creamy head and lacings. Bready and Grassy nose and flavor. Caramelly and Slightly Roasted. Grassy bitter finish. Very clean.

Tap @ Brewery. Pours Dark amber/Brown with an off white head. Aroma of bread, grassy, slight yeast, nuts. Quite malty, slight fruit, a bit herbal, light honey dew, lightly toasted. Sweet with little to no bitternes.

On tap at the brewery. Hazy brown with a lasting white head. Malty aroma with bread, toffee and fresh grain. Dry malty flavour with toffee and caramel and a little roasted note.

Draft. Dark brown. Cloudy/hazy. Malty (roast malts, toffee, caramel). Hoppy (grassy hops). Moderately bitter throughout. Easy drinking. (2008)
