Heidbummer (1935) - SCOTLAND - FEB 13, 2017
With lots of Georgian food, it was clean and crisp and went well with stew. On its own suspect it would fade quickly, but it stood up well to a meal. Quite dry, not much aroma, a bit thin. Oj.

I will say this. It was better than I thought it would be. Once I saw the green bottle, I was like oh great here comes more crap. What I did like about this beer, was the notes of caramel malt and hop and roast. It did have some good qualities to it.

Not often you get to have a Georgian brew, so this was a surprise. I enjoyed it even though it was a lager. It had a subdued aroma. The appearnce was a nice golden amber. Flavor was a bit caramel, nutty, sweet and spicy. It was pretty smooth. I would recommend it if you can actually find it. Again it’s a lager so keep that in mind.

Bottled (4.8%) Clear deep golden, brief flocky head. Quite neutral with vague notes of caramel, apple and butter. Sweet and medium bodied with clean mouthfeel. Very light notes of hay in a finish with low bitterness. Correct, but dull and ugly.

Pours a hazy golden amber with a small head. Aroma is sweet, caramel and a little roastiness. Flavor is also sweet, slight alcohol sensed in the taste as well as some caramel, bread and nuts.

Bottle shared courtesy of TomDecapolis (thanks for checking off another country!). Poured a medium a and slightly hazy amber color with virtually no head. Bottle labeled 28 01 04 (best before or bottled on date?). Aromas of light fruits and citrus. Tastes of fruits, lemons and caramel. Medium sweet with a thinner body. Better than I expected for a Pale Lager.

Thanks to tomdecapolis for this... Appears a light orange gold with virtually no head and no lacing left behind. Smell is fruity with a bit of a adjunct lager smell. Overall pleasant with some fruit salad and citrus aromas dominating. Taste is of the same aromas with a mellow taste with the same dominance dominating. Mouthfeel is decent. A bit of a corn syrup feel hanging around but not bad. Drinkability is pretty good. I would drink this again, no problem.

Poured an amber color with a thin off white head that left no lacing. Aroma of cereal, grains, dusty caramel malt, and some faint citrus in the background. Taste of nuts, faint caramel malt, some cardboard, and light bitterness, finished rather dry.

Smells pretty bad, looks pretty bad, too. Tastes a little better than it looks and smells, but not too much better.

I found it sweet and with a slight biterness. It reminds me of an ESB. Not bad but not good either.
