UPDATED: JAN 9, 2022 330ml can as part of a delivery from Hoptimism and drunk at home. Dark brown with a quickly dissipating tan head. Toasted malt, dark chocolate, liquorice, a touch of vanilla. Sweet taste with more liquorice and a little bit of toasted coconut. Some Gritty bitterness in the finish. Syrupy body, low carbonation. Ooh, I do like this!

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2021 Can. Black with a small dense tan head. Aroma of chocolate, strong roast, lots of slightly singed caramel, orange peel. Luscious, very sweet indeed with roast and some hops struggling a bit to tame what is a friendly if torpid beast. Nice but not very drinkable.

UPDATED: DEC 6, 2021 Pours black with little head Aromas of mocha and smooth roasty malts. Flavors of rich oily roasted malts, with a little chocolate syrup and dark fruit. A great play on just roasted malts without a lot of adjuncts. Very similar to the Export Porter

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2021 Can sample at a tasting. Deep brown with brownish head. The aroma has notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, alcohol, ink, nuts. The flavor is mild sweet and mild bitter with notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, alcohol. Full-bodied.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2021 Can sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Black. Licorice, roast, coffee, a bit of soy sauce, sweet, slightly umami, some bitterness.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2021 Zwart bier met schuim wat snel wegzakt. Smaak is bitterzoet met iets van koffie, chocolade, mokka, wat karamel en een beetje vanille.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2021 Can. Black pour. Aroma of chocolate, licorice, burned caramel, coffee, malt and a little booze. Taste has burned caramel, creamy chocolate, licorice, mocha coffee, malt, booze and a little ripe fruit. Solid stout, not really an anniversary beer, but nice nonetheless.
