Zlotta (7579) - Hagen, GERMANY - JAN 3, 2022UPDATED: JAN 3, 2022 0.33 l can from 'rebelbeercans', best before November 2025. Pitch black with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty, slightly smoky-medicinal and a bit fruity aroma of dark chocolate, peat, cognac, raisins and a touch of coffee. Quite sweet, malty, rather roasty, slightly fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, cognac, some raisins and light oak, followed by a long, gently roasty-bitter, slightly vinous, moderately smoky-medicinal and a bit woody finish. Full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty RIS, lovely cognac flavours, very well-balanced, the peated malts match really well, too. Quite good!
bierkoning (18836) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - DEC 17, 2021UPDATED: DEC 17, 2021 Can. Black. Roast, raisin, cognac and a hint of oak in the aroma and flavor. Slightly alcoholic, certainly not too sweet. A big relief after all those ridiculous pastry stouts. Full bodied.
