COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Previously named Prototripel. Great minds think alike and that's how we got our Sassy Threesome - Prototripel. Threesomes are naughty by nature, bur ours is exceptionally sassy! It's filled to the brim with loads of Saaz hops. A noble hop variety in an indecent context. Cheers! Name given by Rodney Bos, JS de Vries & Luca Moretti in the 'Name the Beer' contest.

Hamirubi (642) - Waarschoot, BELGIUM - JUN 26, 2021
UPDATED: JUN 26, 2021 33cl bottle at home (27 VI 2021), as Sassy Threesome. This is Kompaan's 'prototripel', and it seemingly is an archetype of a bland tripel brew - a beer style every brewer makes sooner rather than later. Thank god, this one is not as dull as the average tripel. The looks are OK, I guess: orange coloured clear brew, with golden gloom and with a swiftly diminishing white collar on top. The nose has few sweetish malt notes with lingering oranges fruits, perhaps some apricots too. There is a strong jenever effect in the nose as well, already hinting at a generous ABV. The body has lots of honey and booziness in it, making up for a sweet and alcoholic tongue, with little carbonation and a long finish which almost seems to conclude in a ginger or anise fashion. In the mouthfeel, the malt features and even the yeast hints are restrained, only slightly referring to bread and wheat. Only a vague honey feature kicks in. This spirits-bomb is just too overwhelming for the beer to portray a varied and omnifarious tasting palate.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2021 Pours clear darker amber, lacing foam head. Aroma is sweet, taste is sweet, malty and heavy alcohol. (Arnhem 2106)

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2021 Golden colour with quick fading head. Most notably this one has a thick oily texture. Loads of malt body. Not overly sweet. Misses some depth though

UPDATED: JUN 3, 2020 03-06-2020; bottle; at home (bought Kompaa, The Hague, The Netherlands). The looks of the beer are good. The color is golden yellow and the beer is nice and clear. On top of the beer a nice layer of soft white foam is formed. Foam retention is other low. A thin drape is left only. The aroma is very nice. It is a typical Tripel aroma, but quite nice and fresh. Malt aromas are bready and grainy, with a touch of biscuit even. The hops are nicely herbal and spicy. The tripel yeast gives the beer a very nice spicy note, and these typical Belgian Tripel aromas of spice and fruit, with some nice banana notes. Quite aromatic and nice. The taste of the beer is also very nice. The beer has some very nice sweet malts and some rather sweet fruity notes. Hops are nice and bitter. The spicy note of the yeast brings final balance. Nicely done. The palate is also nicer. Smooth texture, medium-full body and high carbonation. The finish is nice and has some pleasant sweet fruity yeast notes and a very nice spiciness. All in all, I'd say it is a very pleasant beer. Good one.

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2020 33 cl fles. Helder goudblond bier met crème kleurig schuim. Geur: licht zoet, mout, gist, fruitig, sinaasappel, ietwat banaan. Smaak: licht zoet, mout, sinaasappel, alcoholisch, wat honing mondgevoel, lichte bitterheid. Volmondig. Medium koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: licht zoet, fruitig, wat alcohol verwarmend. Leuk en aangenaam.

nathanvc (4147) - Gent, BELGIUM - APR 27, 2020
UPDATED: APR 27, 2020 Pours hazy golden with a lasting, small, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of ripe apricot, banana, honey, white bread, jenever. Taste has sweet banana, apricot, estery & bready malty profile, some bitter spices, grain, yeasty effect. Grassy hoppy finish, more ripe fruit & warming jenever-like alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Easily forgettable Tripel.

TomHendriksen (4865) - NETHERLANDS - APR 12, 2020

yerffoeg (788) - Dinant, BELGIUM - APR 10, 2020
