MartinT (10698) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 19, 2018UPDATED: DEC 19, 2018 My Bottom Line:
Citrusy hop resins suffuse this Belgian-style IPA’s super fluffy, lean mouthfeel, leading to floral accents and building bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A beautiful foam cumulus covers the hazy pale blond.
-Flavor is hop-oriented but complex.
-I appreciate the bottle conditioning effort greatly. Makes the mouthfeel lighter and more airy, thus increasing drinkability.
-The ‘IPA Fermière’ mention on the label is ridiculous. The brewery is not a farmhouse at all and there is nothing from a local farmhouse in this beer.
Bottle.
czar (13375) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 28, 2014on tap on the premises. murky pale golden, red tint, pour with a small creamy and reviving off-white head, very nice lacing sticking. bright spicy citrus, juicy fruitiness, spicy mangoes, bitter herbs, nice accompanying phenols - never overdone, wheaty if not some slightly harsh resin, fair saison character as for fruity and spicy esters, danky melons, grass, pepper, hint of pine. average carbonation, light to medium body - oily, just a tad heavy though, still it feels balanced and finishes fruity-grassy-spicy-citrusy. much enjoyed!
mathieuc (3997) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 27, 2014UPDATED: AUG 28, 2014 On tap at Festibière de Québec. Pours a hazy golden with a medium white head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of dank hops, green and fruity. Taste is pretty sweet and heavy, moderately bitter. Flavors are mostly of caramel and sugars, for whatever reason I was expecting a brett IPA?! Anyway, it is more sweet cereals than anything. Body was medium, as was carbonation. Overall a good IPA, maybe just a touch to heavy for me and I’m not sure what they mean by "farmhouse"?
