COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This unique seasonal product is the world’s only Trappist bock ale. Brewed exclusively with natural ingredients, this ale post-ferments slightly in its bottle. It has a deep red colour, an intensely rich taste, and a malty aroma. Aromatic hop varieties and types of burnt malt render this ale its delicate bitterness that blends surprisingly well with its slightly sweet undertone.

La Trappe Bock has 7% ABV.

Martinsh (1348) - Crewe, Cheshire, ENGLAND - DEC 15, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 15, 2021 Bottle from Beer 52. Pours a rich dark ruby red with a generous beige head. There’s a good helping of treacle, dark fruits and malts in the aroma. Fairly similar in the mouth as well, where the texture is distinctly chewy. Sort of like a liquid, alcoholic malt loaf. Figs, chocolate, molasses to round things outr as well, plus some hints of spices. This is excellent – and hides its strength very well.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2021 33cl bottle from a Prik&Tik store in Roeselare, Belgium, drinking 7/10/2021 BB 09-2023 Pours a dark brown/amber body with a large thick tan head on top and lots of lacing. Great aroma of caramel and roasted malts, toffee, nuts, dried fruits, sugary, quite boozy, yeasty, very nice. Taste is warm, moderately sweet and rich with notes of caramel and roasted malt, nuts and dried fruits, toffee, some cocoa, slightly sugary, good and round moderate bitter finish with more sweet caramel notes. Very warm and boozy for 7% abv but absolutely smooth and lovely taste, a bit more on the sweet side but pleasantly so. A bit creamy. Medium to full body, slick slightly oily texture and moderate carbonation. Amazing, tasty and warm bock.
