JorisPPattyn (12750) - Wilrijk, BELGIUM - SEP 20, 2021UPDATED: SEP 20, 2021 I Obviously aged sample /I No head, dirty amber-brown, still beer. Very fruity nose with raisins, fruitcake, preserved cherries, prunes. Sweet, again fruity, as I prune d'Agen /I. Just a hit at acidity, and more than a boozy hint. Sweet booze, that is. Almondy, marzipan. Alcoholburn and -thinning; still very slick, burning MF. No carbonation left. Middle of the road in the series. But what do we read? German whisky barrels? GERMAN? Where do those hail from?

Strong aroma, caramel malt and quite boozy. Taste is malty with caramel, oak and dry fruit, but too much alcohol for the balance. Fine body and rather alcoholic aftertaste as well.

madmitch76 (34026) - , Essex, ENGLAND - NOV 24, 201824th November 2018
Clear deep red amber beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, light and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a little thin, mild creamy sweetness. Typical La Trappe Oak esters, sweet and a little floral but always contributing and never annoying. Decent sweet wood. Touch of sweet fruity whiskey. Touch of dry berries. Smooth and fairly dry finish. Smooth fruity whiskey linger. As always with these La Trappe Oak Aged, nuanced and layered.
jerohen (2619) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - JUL 6, 2018Bottled from HetBierMoment. Dark mahogany colored, small head. Beautiful complex nose, alcohol, raisins, malts, vanilla, whisky. Same in flavor, alcohol more apparent. Lasting alcoholic finish. A little bit boozy, but apart from that: brilliant brew.
rayoflight (35) - - APR 21, 2018Fles, mooi donker kleurig bier met dunne schuimkraag. Heel verfijnd met een mooie balans. Rijpe banaan, helaas ook wat kurk smaak. Zoet en een vleug van vijg. Prachtig gemaakt. Mijn eerste la trappe batch.
