Not shure if this is the regular Lagunitas ipa. Clear orange body with small white head. Fruity nose of exoticc fruit and some citrus. Medium carbonation. nice IPA. ****
Sampled at the taproom on 8/6/10. Pours clear gold/amber with a thin white head. Bold and catty hop nose with some ginger spicy notes. Ginger is up front in the flavor with a bitter grassy hop finish.
A: The pour is a nice amber color with a big white head perched on top.
S: The nose certainly exhibits the ginger in this beer. In fact, that’s just about all you notice. The ginger is pungent and intense, but certainly has a fresh aroma to it.
T: The ginger is once again dominant, allowing just a few hints of hop flavor to come through. In fact, I can almost taste the ginger before I even put the glass to my mouth.
M: The body is medium, as is the level of carbonation.
D: You certainly have to enjoy ginger to find this one drinkable. While I do like ginger, this was just too much.
On tap at the brewery taproom. I owe the bartender a beer next time I head up for allowing me a growler of this when it was supposed to be by the glass only. Lightly hazy amber in the glass with strong off-white head and lace. Nose seems like it’s just a nicely sweet IPA. Strong hops and a hint of the ginger sweetness. The taste however is much stronger. Super sweet ginger flavor on top of a solid IPA hoppiness. Light spiciness follows the initial sweetness, but the ginger lingers. Beautiful beer to drink outside on a warm day. Solid brew. And once again, the way the staff treats customers here proves my name to be true.
