Svesse (12015) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - NOV 20, 2021UPDATED: NOV 20, 2021 (Bottle) Reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with treacle-toffee, toast, nougat, dried fruit, figs, brown sugar, nuts, fudge and resin. Malty, fruity taste with notes of toast, treacle-toffee, hazelnuts, dried fruit, figs, dates, coffee, brown sugar and a generous resiny/piney bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, quite sweet. Tasty and fairly complex imperial brown ale, with a good hop presence. Very nice.
mcdav2154 (481) - GERMANY - APR 7, 2020UPDATED: APR 7, 2020 Malty but great hop balance. Solid brown ale with big nutty buttery flavor/mouthfeel. Love it.
tjslim (26) - - AUG 20, 2019UPDATED: AUG 20, 2019 Big fan. Caramel, whiskey all flavors I tasted. Was please try surprised with this one.
Jabah (2479) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - APR 23, 2018This is another one of Lags brown ale-IPA hybrids. Even though this may not be my top 3 or so from them, it is still a SOLID beer. Nothing really wrong with this one......smooth, crisp, well-balanced, loaded with flavor but not too stong. This is actually one of their lighter beers that I've sampled.....at 7.3%! Might prefer the 2009 Correction Ale over this, but only by a narrow margin. Similar, but WTF more on the brown side. I am loving this hop finish though, maybe wet or fresh hopped? May have to sample again and adjust but right around a 4.0 give or take.
mrjaxson (924) - .08 Junction, WI, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 18, 2017Starts with a huge noseful of caramel, whiskey and piney resins. Seems like sticky chunks of bark should be floating in this glass. Full-bodied brew with distinctive amounts of sweetness and bitterness leading to a solid sweet and dry finish. WTF indeed. Enjoyed three months after its Aug. 21, 2017, bottling. Label said gravity and IBUs unchanged but ABV now at 8.1%. Thank you. Fabulous soliloquy on the label: part Jimmy Stewart, part Humphrey Bogart, part Mystery Men.
chucklemation (2764) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - OCT 28, 2017Pours a clear dark amber with an off-white foam head. Aroma is caramel malts with pine and floral hops. Flavor is similar, a little resin. Bitter and well-carbonated. Pretty good.
mesacollier (39) - - OCT 24, 2017Strong bourbon and malt aroma, reddish brown color, nice lacing, smooth bourbon flavor with hints of malt, chocolate, and hops.

Bitterbill (2959) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - OCT 6, 2017Bottled 199th day of 2017.
Pours brown, great head of foam and lacing.
Roasted Brown Ale nose with a citrus bitterness and booze.
The underlying Brown Ale, I like. The intense bitterness and intrusive alcohol, I don't.
No problems or complaints aboot the mouthfeel.
Not for me. Not this fresh at least.
bdleedahl (4795) - , Saxony, GERMANY - OCT 3, 2017Quite bitter, only medium body. I think this beer is a barley wine effectively. Overrated on ratebeer.bottle on Berkeley
