Turboninja (2168) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAR 7, 2020UPDATED: MAR 7, 2020 Cask@KahdetKasvot, Tampere, Finland. Mineral and light malt forwarded that really dampens the banana. It also feels quite aerated. Medium/strong body with no carbonation. Overall, surprisingly low performer for a larger Sahti company. 4 4 4 2 8
Geiserich (5614) - Linz, AUSTRIA - NOV 23, 2019UPDATED: NOV 23, 2019 Bottle at Craft Bier Fest Wien: Aroma has a big banana notes, glue, sweetness, berries. Flavor is full of overripe banana, cough syrup, spices. Ends sweet and spicy.
Cuso (13588) - Bratislava, SLOVAKIA - NOV 23, 2019UPDATED: NOV 23, 2019 Craft Bier Fest, Vienna. Amber color with minimal white head. Aroma of caramel, spices, phenolic. Taste, caramel, phenolic, rye, juniper, some spices, maybe sournes from berries. Totally different from Sahti's I had. Probably this was made according to roots.
Gurthnar (9965) - Bratislava, SLOVAKIA - NOV 22, 2019UPDATED: NOV 22, 2019 Tap at Craft Bier Fest Wien. ABV hidden well, full body, quite sweet, caramelly, toasted. Assertive spicy phenolics, clove and such. Feels a bit weizeny. Surprisingly easy drinking, good.
one51 (1349) - - SEP 14, 2019UPDATED: SEP 14, 2019 On draft at Savotta in Helsinki. Dark brown, no head, great molasses cookies aroma that reminds me of Grammy baking. Not much carbonation. Sweet, rye bread, piney (I guess juniper), complex with everything from roast to forest berry notes, even a little sour. Not sure what you have to 'get used to' about this drink - I could easily drink a full one from the first sip, just not too many as it's pretty sweet.
KyotoLefty (14291) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 30, 2019UPDATED: AUG 30, 2019 Tin cup at Zetor. Looks dark brown. Malt nose, spicy, caramel, touch of juniper, banana. Sweet and viscous, caramel, brown sugar, esters, banana, light spice as in rye. Just a touch of juniper, maybe. Thick and syrupy, sweet and spicy. Not as likeable as others I have had.
tderoeck (14777) - Gent, BELGIUM - JUN 14, 2019UPDATED: JUN 14, 2019 14/IV/19 - sample from a bag in box @ Leuven Innovation Beer Festival (Leuven), BB: n/a - (2019-511)
Little cloudy orange to brownish beer, small irregular off-white head, unstable, dissipates quickly. Aroma: bit smoky, quite some banana, lots of yeast, sweetish impression. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: malty, sweet, banana, pretty sugary, slightly smoky, lots of yeast. Not very convincing. I was hoping for more smoke and a sour touch, instead of banana yeast.
BeardedAvenger (5128) - New Haw, Surrey, ENGLAND - MAY 26, 2019UPDATED: MAY 26, 2019 Served in a tin cup at Zetor, Helsinki. 25/05/19. Sweet yeast and fruit aroma. Muddy brown. No head. Sweet with a hint of bitterness, which gradually gains prominence. Medium bodied. Creamy. Flat carbonation. Long finish. Drinkable. But can't see who would be interest in this other than for its novelty/unusual style status.
PlutonowyMan (1895) - Baardegem, BELGIUM - APR 17, 2019UPDATED: APR 17, 2019 LIBF2019
Nalewane z plastikowego worka.
Kolor rubinowy, mocno mętny. Piany brak.
Aromat ziołowo słodki, landrynkowy, były migdały, cynamon, jałowiec i słodki banan.
Smak to powtórka z rozrywki. Słodko, banan mocno dojrzały, landrynki, migdały, cynamon, lekkie nuty jałowca.
Wysycenie niskie. Pełnia średnia, płyn jest gładki, aksamitny, miękki.
Uwagi: ciekawe, ale może zmęczyć.
Benzai (20022) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - JAN 4, 2019UPDATED: JAN 4, 2019 Bottle @ tasting shared by TomHendriksen. Orange color, small off-white. Aroma reminds me of juniper berries and green twigs. Flavor is a bit sourish, some notes of sweetish berries and slight smoke. Hmm not the best sahti I've ever had but it's ok.
