COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
Originally brewed by Thwaites, the brand was contract brewed at Marston’s Wolverhampton plant (Banks’s) from 2013, then bought completely by Marston in March 2015. The brand initially continued to be sold under the Thwaites name and logo, but by 2016 the Thwaites name had been dropped.
"This rich amber beer is brewed with only the finest English ingredients. A prominent hop aroma and bitterness throughout is finely balanced with a full malt flavour, leading to a dry bitter finish."

FACambridge (1122) - Chelmsford, Essex, ENGLAND - DEC 22, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 22, 2021 Aroma : Moderate toffee/biscuity maltiness, undertone of soft fruit hoppiness with a distinct fusty note. Taste : Thinnish body. Big bitter green hoppy bite upfront, which mellows a little as the toffee malt and soft fruits come through. Dryish finish. Actually taste's much better than weak aroma suggests it would

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2021 Aroma of 'working mens clubs' with a hint of caramel. Poured steadily leaves a weak foamy layer. Subtle hoppy taste, easy to drink, especially in 'working mens clubs'. Quite ok 👌🏽

UPDATED: APR 2, 2021 I really like this beer- and @ £1 it’s very good value. Nice rich flavours of roasted barley, dried fruits and dark chocolate. Pours a dark colour with a foam head which remains down the glass. They could be drunk all afternoon in a beer garden without becoming boring.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2021 A lidls pakkból a jobbak közé tartozik, de nem az igazi. Kesernyessege optimális, de egy kicsit túl vizes még.

dragnet101 (2331) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - NOV 15, 2020
UPDATED: NOV 15, 2020 500ml bottle. This is the top rated beer in my region of the West Mids on here and I've only just found it on the shelves! Pours amber, small off-white head, good retention. Aroma of caramel, bread, very malty. Taste is sweet, caramel, malty, stale resinous hop. Body is quite full considering the ABV. Its fine but not moreish despite it being a malty bitter. I want to tip my imaginary hat to these traditional beers from the old big brewers, but its hard sometimes.
