UPDATED: NOV 28, 2020 Copper in color with a frothy, white head. Aroma is grassy and herbal with sweet muffins underneath. A faint whiff of toffee. Taste is bittersweet with a moderate bitterness at the finish. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Good stuff. Goes down feeling half Zwickl and half Dunkel.

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2020 Bottle. Pale amber color. Bready aroma with a hint of toffee. Malty Bready floral flavor. Almost full bodied. Well balanced.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2019 (bottle) clear golden colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of doughy malts and marzipan, quite yeasty, with just a faint hint of green apple and some powdered sugar. flavour is mostly the same, lots of faint christmas spices and yeast, with a light strawiness in the semi-dry toasted bread finish. medium-bodied with average carbonation. the label is somewhat misleading.

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2019 'Landwinkl Bräu a brauns', Flasche von Aquatron, BA. - Kupfergold, klar. - In der Nase tiefes getreidig-brotiges helles Malz, schwach toastig, und milde aber hintergründige kräuterige Hopfenherbe. - Antrunk satt hellmalzig mit feinen toastigen Zügen, Trockenaprikose, dezente aber aromatische Hopfenherbe. Zurückhaltene Malzsüße, feine fruchtige Säure, zart buttrig. Milder rezent, vollmundig, Märzen-artig. Im Abgang schön krautige und leicht pfeffrige Herbe. - Für ein 'Braunbier' ungewöhnlich hell, optisch wie geschmacklich eher ein helles Märzen mit einigem Tiefgang. Zuerst dachte ich an fehlerhafte Etikettierung, aber auch auf der Website der Brauerei sieht dieses Bier sehr hell aus. Vom irreführenden Namen mal abgesehen sehr schmackhaft! (14.12.2019.)
