UPDATED: OCT 10, 2021 Bottle at a cafe in La Condesa, Mexico City. Aroma of grain, corn and a touch of caramel. Corny and very plain. Slightly dry. Light bodied. Not very good.

UPDATED: APR 16, 2020 Reddish brown. Very refreshing and easy to drink. Subtle malty & roasty flavor. When hot day but don't wanna drink boring lagar, this beer will be my option.

At a restaurant in Mexico City: somewhat dirty and metallic amber lager. Side by side with Montejo, Montejo had more and better flavor, which is not what you would expect. Not my favorite.

A sweet malt aroma, pours a clear brown, aged copper color with a thin white head. Light body, somewhat watery, a sweet malt taste with a short lasting sugary malt finish.

One of several ambers I sampled in Mexico on my trip to Michoacán in 2010. Only now getting to the rating. Light and sweet. Very mild and watery.

Dark amber beer with big but quickly disappearing head. Aroma of honey and some spicy and grassy hops. Quite sweet mixed with bitter. Palate a bit too thin. Altogether nothing very convincing.

355 ml bottle @ Karisma Cantina Mexico City. Pours a clear Amber with a large bubbled beige head. Aromas are are subtle (poured fairly cold). Tastes are grainy malts, slight hop profile, and a little metallic on the back end. Light body, assertive carbonation, short metallic finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Appearance: Reddish-amber body that’s a bit (too?) clear with a decent 2 finger head that recedes to a thin layer then to nothing rather quickly. Smell: Best feature for me. Malt & mild bitterness (hops?) with a underlying coffee presence, not sure. Taste: Wow, not much here. Some malt, maybe some caramel but extremely subdued. Taste is fleeting. A bit grainy but i’m grasping at straws here due to the lack of flavor. Slight bitterness in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel: Texture is, for lack of a better word, rubbery. Crisp & clean and finishes like water. Kind of flat also.
