UPDATED: JAN 2, 2022 This is thin for an impy porter, but they nail the flavor and aroma, so a 10 in style seems more than a little harsh. Christmas in a bottle.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2021 Pours dark brown with a very small, quickly fading head. The aroma is full of peppermint. The flavor is sweet and full of peppermint with malt coming out more as it warms. The peppermint continues to dominate the chocolate malt though. There’s a trace of bourbon but it definitely needs more.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2021 12 ounce bottle from Stein’s Lincoln St, 12/24/21. Dark brown, thin fizzy tan head, poor retention. Aroma of bourbon, mint. Taste is mint, roast, bourbon, vanilla. Slick, kinda one-note, but not bad.

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2021 Dark pour with a tan head and fair lacing. Aroma of peppermint. My initial thought was that this would be a candy or artificial tasting and was a novelty. I was greatly surprised by the refreshing and nice taste. If you like peppermint patties, you will like this porter! Not an everyday pour and one would have to be careful of what you pair it with, but I liked it!

UPDATED: DEC 22, 2021 12oz bottle(s) from Party Town in Florence KY served at refrigerator temperature. About black pour with a beige head. Aroma has peppermint mark, with chocolate & caramelly malts. Taste is minty, light caramel, and some chocolate. This is not deep, and could really use more body. The mint component is decent, with a mix of frangio and a bit of fake. Would think warmer would be a disaster. 13.2

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2021 I like the overall balance of this between the base, peppermint, and bourbon flavors. Peppermint doesn't seem artificial. Toothpaste beer is never nice. Kind of tastes like a toned down version of those chocolate mint candy canes. Feel is a little thin for a 8% porter. Sampled at a holiday party. Solid beer, just don't know if I'd get a whole 4-pack for my own.

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2021 Bottle at Holiday Beerfest. Pour was black, tan head. Aroma of peppermint. Taste was sweet, peppermint, York Peppermint Patty, chocolate, nice.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2021 Bottle/Fest. A- Peppermint, chocolate. A- Black color, dark liquid, light brown head. T- Peppermint, chocolate, medium sweetness. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Let me preface by saying I hate mint chocolate as a combo. This was very strong peppermint but I quite enjoyed it. Liquid York Patty in a glass. One of the best Kentucky BB beers I've had as well. They always seem to surprise me in a good way.

hman43 (3700) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - NOV 24, 2021
UPDATED: NOV 24, 2021 It pours dark brown with almost no head. There are very strong peppermint aromas. There are very low notes of roast. It has strong peppermint flavors with a touch of bourbon and roast. It has a medium body with a peppermint aftertaste. Overall, the idea is a good one but the peppermint dominated the rest of the aromas and flavors to the point that it was the only thing in the beer.

Aggiebob (3426) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - NOV 23, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 13, 2021 Black color pour with a tan head. The aroma is strongly peppermint. The rich taste follows the nose with peppermint and chocolate and a bit of vanilla from the bourbon barrels on the finish. A York Peppermint Patty in a bottle. Very, very nice.
