Roasted aroma of nuts, chocolate, rye bread and subtle coffee and smoke. Nicely roasted flavour as well with smoke, ash, dark chocolate, coffee and rye bread. Has a soft mouth feel, medium body and a light to medium bitterness. A smooth ale with a nice touch of smoke. Well balanced.
fiery1 (4103) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 25, 2017Draught @ Lompoc Hedge House. Pours a rich mahogany colour with a small beige head. Nose is bready malt with a hint of hops. Flavour is a very different mix of piney hops with a smokey character. While I’m not a fan of the hoppy bitterness I find the sweet smokey character manages to mask the harsh bitterness making for a semi middle ground if you will. The smokey character develops on the palate and lingers nicely. Mmmh.. salty meat products I desire now.

andrewje41 (6568) - Monroe, Washington, USA - SEP 2, 201522 oz bottle poured. Pours cola like, dark brown with a fizzy off white head. Hop forward aroma. Flavor is just the opposite with a heavy malt, slight spice, light smoke, and caramel. A lot of different flavors going on here. Hops come back late. Overall this is an interesting beer to me. Little surprised to see the strong ale tag on a beer under 7%, but I don’t make the rules, nor do I usually understand them. No matter what it is, I enjoyed this beer.
mjg74 (3627) - Lubbock, Texas, USA - JUL 27, 2015Bomber from Capital Market. Super deep ruby in color. Nose is fairly roasty with a lot of dark fruit notes. More roasty dark fruits up front. Going into a nice bit of roasty coffee. Mild hoppiness. Pretty good strong ale.
