At a Glance The Beer: A fresh track, Track 8 is a spicy monster — A base of Judgment Day aged in freshly emptied bourbon barrels then spiked with liberal additions of cinnamon stick and dried chili pepper. ABV: 13.7% Released: August 18, 2012 Liner Notes We’ve never released a Bourbon Barrel version of our Judgment Day. So we thought it might be interesting to take the base beer for Cuvee de Tomme age in first fill Bourbon Barrels and let mother nature take over. Of course, because this is a Rock and Roll inspired Box Set beer, we couldn’t just leave well enough alone. Upon sampling the base beer, it became apparent that the raisins used to brew the base beer were going to drive the flavor bus of this beer. The conversations turned to Oatmeal Raisin cookies and the essence of a freshly baked treat. So we added some cinnamon sticks to the barrels and threw in some dried chiles as well. At 13.70 ABV this beer has amazing depth of flavor and presents a unique drinking experience for consumers who may be seeking enlightenment on Judgment Day.

Ljus (872) - Quebec, CANADA - JUN 1, 2020
UPDATED: JUN 1, 2020 Apparence : Brune foncée, reflets rougeâtres, très léger col brun sans réelle rétention, carbonatation faible.
Nez : Caramel, fruits séchés (raisins secs, dattes), sucre d’orge, vanille, pointe d’alcool.

Idiosynkrasie (13823) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - DEC 1, 2019
UPDATED: DEC 1, 2019 375ml bottle. Opaque, dark brown colour with small, fading, beige head. Sweet-ish, spicy aroma, notes of cinnamon, dark toffee, a touch of Bourbon, herbal liqueur. Taste is sweet-ish, spicy, chocolately dark malty, slightly fruity, notes of cinnamon, hints of dark toffee, raisin, a touch of Bourbon, slowly accumulation peppery spiciness; well hidden alcohol. Oily texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, soft to flat carbonation. All in all a very nice cinnamon exposition in rather unspecific surroundings.

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2019 Bottle at home. Very dark brown, creamy light beige head. Dried fruits like figs and raisins, roasted malty milky chocolate, coffee, coconut flakes, nutty, vanilla, caramel, a tat vinous, some cinnamon, faint pepper, quite boozy bourbon, lightly bitter and spicy; quite complex and nuanced , but not incredibly balanced. Nice roasted malty linger, bourbon too. Good body, soft carbonation.

UPDATED: JUN 13, 2019 Bottle. Hazy brown color with beige head. Aroma is caramel, chocolate, raisins, cinnamon indeed. Taste is cinnamon stick, raisins, chocolate, a bit of a chili catch. Silky mouthfeel with high carbonation. A bit overattenuated, but that's part of the style I guess.
