This is very a very nice beer. Cheers!
Cristobal37 (2249) - Tustin, California, USA - APR 4, 2020UPDATED: APR 4, 2020 2014 bottle. Pours dark brown, no head. Strong boozy molasses, wood barrel, an almost Flanders red kind of woody malty earthiness. Smooth, sweet desserty wine, prunes, rum, cocoa flavor, coconut, maple syrup. Big big on taste, really smooth and while it's got myriad flavors it all blends very well. I never really was big on dessert wines but there's no denying this is well done and complex. Similar to the Baladin Xyauyu.

Black pour, tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate, Brandy, raisin, prune. Taste follows, with caramel, candied sugar, quite complex. Wow.
Lækker barleywine men måske lidt for sprittet.

VastActiv (12835) - Oulu/Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 1, 2018Tap at Meadhall, Boston. Vintage 2015. Colour is dark brown with small slightly brownish head. Aromas and flavors: Chocolate, some sweetness, some sugary sweetness, dry fruits, raisins, rum, some alcohol and malts. Little bit of too boozy.
Dawsemeister (50) - - JAN 3, 2018UPDATED: JAN 3, 2018 Bottle - pours dark tan, little head. Smells strongly of bourbon and caramelised toffee. Really soft and silky mouthfeel with an alcohol warmth at the end. Loads of whiskey as expected, but with a lot of sweet caramel flavours to counter-act it. You can taste and feel the booze, but it is not overpowering and I think this is exactly what you want from a big whiskey aged barley wine! Delicious!
