Bottle. Pale gold. Perfect translucence; zero head. Rich sweetness in the nose: pear, peach, lavender, smoky vinegar, apple cider. Vinegar, pear, apple and a hint of banana emerge in the flavor. Lacks some oomph at the end. Mild carbonation in the watery medium-light body. Big vinegary acidity builds between sips. Probably would’ve been much better a year or two ago.

75cl, at 8%Vol (004 written on the back label), retired exclusive American blended brew, with peaches, thx alot to Dirk for sharing!, very complex sour fruit brew, sour/fruity and slightly woody/floral, yet easy to drink, balanced, hazy, nearly no head, very good brew, ’Despite some signs of oxidation, this sample aged very well!’

Holy shit this is amazing. Aromas are intoxicating. Aromas are sweet.. And fruity. Oak and wine too. One of the best smelling beers I?ve ever had. Super sour. Lemon and white wine. Chardonnay. So good.

Scopey 5K Tasting in deepest Croydonia. Big thanks to Paul for breaking out this whale for his 5K. Lightly hazy gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and crisp. Light sourness with touches of wood and worcester sauce. Little citric peel bitterness and sour sherbet. Light floralness and tangerine. Finishes semi and crispy. Very nice.

Huge whale shared by Scopey for his 5000th rate. Pours hazy golden with a sticky white rim leaving nice lacing. Nose is tangy and tarty berries, big barnyard focus, sweet lemon juice, quite zest forward, light muskiness and quite doughy. Has a very pleasing tropical mandarin type note throughout. Absolutely outstanding balance in this. Taste showcases some amazing tanginess, very lemon-centric with zesty lime and orange. Some pleasing peppery additions with straw and juicy citric notes. A very tangy sour and it works so well. Understandably world class

Bottle shared at the Scopey 5K tasting - big thanks to the host for this one. Pours cloudy yellow-gold with a foamy, white head. Nice, citric tartness in the aroma with accents of tangerine and peach. Moderate sweetness to the flavor with lovely tang, lemon, further tangerine. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Clean, refreshing conclusion with great balance, more lemony tang, tangerines, faint leather, light alcohol warmth. Wonderful balance and nuance. Highly drinkable. Very good beer.

Bottle split at Scopey’s 5K Extravaganza of Oompah Band meets doorbell music, massive thanks to the man of the moment on rate 5K - 15/02/14. Hazed orange with a thin off white covering. Nose is tangy dank fruits, bitter orange, citric tinged straw, bitter apricots, dank wood, light smoke. Taste comprises bitter orange, on the turn peach, dank musty wood, light acid, lemon rind, straw, tarte fruit cocophony. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying closure. Solid easy drinking sour, mellow stuff with very subtle acid/vinegar notes, good balance.

Bottle at home to celebrate my #5000 rate! It pours hazy golden orange with a small white head. The nose is wood, floral, barnyard, brett, hay, apricot yoghurt, light spice, wet leaf and some mustiness. The taste is crisp, tart, peachy, orange, sour apricot, light acidity, sherbet, sour candy, wood, vinous, lightest touch of vinegar, white grape skin, gooseberry and some floral notes with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Very approachable and rather drinkable stuff. Perhaps not quite what its cracked up to be, but tasty nonetheless.
