UPDATED: JAN 11, 2022 440ml can from Lidl, Summerstown. Picked up for £1.49. Wasn’t expecting much, but this is pretty nice. Black. Aroma of roasted nuts, dark malt and brown sugar. Moderately sweet flavour. Nice thick body. Doesn’t really taste 10%.

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2022 Can, 440ml. Deep black colour with a large, frothy brown head. Aroma of toasted malt, toasted barley, cocoa, coffee, hop notes. Flavour has lots of chocolate, cocoa, biscuit. Alcohol evident. Delicious.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2022 Incredible value can from Lidl Inverurie. It pours jet black with a dark tan head, which dissipates. The aroma is rich roasted, dark chocolate, umami, tarry, liquorice, earthy, coffee grounds and a touch of pipe tobacco. The taste is bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, slick, toothy, chewy, dark chocolate, cacao, earthy, dark roast coffee grounds, toasty, slight charred, umami, liquorice and only a wee kick of alcohol with a rich, chewy roasted finish. Medium to fulsome body and average carbonation. Funny to thinks it's almost novel to have a straight forward non adjunct imperial stout. Works well. Could drink by the pint, but probably wouldn't be my best plan. Solid stuff and brilliant value.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2021 440ml can from Lidl. Black with a giant tan head. Rich chocolate and malt aroma, flavour is similar with a lovely sticky mouth feel

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2021 44cl can from Lidl, enjoyed in a stemmed tulip glass on 27-Dec-2021. Black in colour with a large beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel and pine. Full body with medium carbonation. Taste of roasted malt, dark chocolate, caramel, tobacco, berries, lactose and spices. Moderately bitter but with heavy sweetness. A decent imperial stout, although a little on the sweet side.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2021 Creamy tan head stayed on a near black still body. Dark chocolate & bitter roasted aroma. Medium bodied, creamy with a short clean back. Chocolate, liquorice, malt & sweet jam tastes with a tangy citrus finish. Good one.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2021 440ml can from Lidl, Epsom. Pours black with a thin beige head. Aroma of roast malt and liquorice. Liquorice and chocolate taste. Full-bodied sweetish finish.

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2021 440ml can. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a short-lived, frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, light toffee caramel. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, slightly oily, roasty, liqourice, light toffee fudge, chocolate, coffee, light dry pepper spice palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

UPDATED: NOV 22, 2021 44cl can from Lidl. Thick tan head. Clear almost black pour. Lots of chocolate. Good for a Lidl brew

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2021 440ml can from LIDL in Uxbridge. A black coloured pour with a healthy beige head on top. Roasty, malty, liquorice, dark chocolate aroma, tastes similar, quite rich and sweet. This was surprisingly good and great that you can get an imperial stout of this quality in LIDL.
