Thanks Rune! Dark reddish brown coloured. Moderate head. Loads of chocolate and some toffee in the aroma. Sweetish malty chocolate flavour. A light roastiness adds some pleasant balancing bitterness. It also has a touch of blood. Soft carbonation. Fairly light body. Well made and very quaffable without being anything extraordinary. You would expect something heavier from a beer named Maximus.

500ml draught at Macks Ølhallen where it was nicely served at a moderate chilled temperature. Almost jet black body. Tan coloured head with some duration. Dotted spots to the glassware. Inviting aroma of grainy, chocolate malts. Fine blend of different malts providing a flavour profile that is slightly roasted and has solid notes of chocolate, caramel and creamy malts offset by dusty hops. Bittering malts to a nice rounded aftertaste. A bit heavy to drink, but overall very good. The availability of this porter version from Mack should definitely not be limited to Ølhallen (Tromsø, 18.05.2011).
