This dark auburn lager features a robust balance of malt flavors ending with the smooth finish of a traditional dark or "dunkel" "Munich-style" lager. A house favorite.

Tap: Brown hue. Mild carbonation; smooth body. Malts were really raw tasting. Big and roasty, with elements of buttered toast (glad I wasn’t the only one to notice the butter, as I thought it odd and myself crazy), toffee, nuts and caramel. Bitterness was mild and too weak.

I had this beer on tap at the brewery while I was on vacation there. In general, I’m not a huge fan of german style malty beers, but I did like this one. It is a dark ruby colored beer with a very sweet malty aroma. The flavor is in step with the aroma, and is extremely malty with a strong german feel. The balance is good and it is medium bodied. The drinkability is pretty good.

On tap at the Maui Brewing Company Brew Pub. Poured a deeper copper color with a very small sized off white head. Aromas of roast, light chocolate, toasted malts, and some caramel. Lively body.

Tap at brewpub. Looks black...dark brown in the light...creamy head, nice lace. Nice aroma! Roasty, carmel, malt. A bit light on the body, but not bad for this beer...yummy, very drinkable dark lager w/ very slight liquorice, mocha, roast flavors...some citric hops show up too.
