neongolden (3888) - Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 11, 2022UPDATED: JAN 11, 2022 (500ml bottle from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours lightly hazed gold with a decent and stable white head with spotty lace. Aroma of lacto-soured mixed-grain cereals with an underlying tone of malt sweetness, ample citrusy tones but as much lemon-lime lacto as the orange peel, orange pit fruit juiciness and some berry tones, softly woody, gin aromatics pretty restrained though present. Flavour is smoothly and softly tart, lactic and rounded, sweetish bready cereals at the core, very mellow with orange, lime and berry fruitiness, soft florals and wood, gin vibes towards the finish but of a very bright citrusy gin rather than a heavy juniper/spice one, finish reamins dry and balanced with a soft juniper, dried floral and wood tone. Medium-plus bodied, fine almost creamy carbonation. Enjoyable wild ale, though the gin/adjuncts could have been more prominent for me.
Franckg (3796) - Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 28, 2021UPDATED: NOV 28, 2021 Bouteille.
Eructoblaster (6993) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 4, 2021UPDATED: NOV 4, 2021 Bouteille - 500ml.
czar (13375) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 21, 2021UPDATED: OCT 21, 2021 bottle that pours almost clear light gold with a small but reviving white head offering good enough retention and lacing. intricate spiciness intertwining with a vibrant flora (that cannot lead to a more spot-on soft tartness), very doughy multigrain pale cereal maltiness, delicate white spiciness, lots of salt. moderate natural carbonation, light body - very oily; mellow yet dry, softly tart and spicy finish. very nicely dosed juniper berries with great spicy input from gin barrels leaving all the way for a nicely constructed saison with a fully-developed flora (with a totally controlled-ph). lovely in every aspect of it (and was afraid of its gin attributes). very much enjoyed this gin barrel-aged saison w/ added borealness.
