Also ein klassisches, gut trinkbares Stout doch ohne waa Besonderes. Daher 'Skål'!

Goldbarren (4264) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - OCT 27, 2019

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2019 Almost pitch black - head that dipasears quite fast - would like a bit more carbonation - a nice smooth and round feel and taste in the mouth - good balance between sweetness and bitterness with a long lasting aftertaste of coffee and licorice. Not bad at all.

Bottle. 7.2%. Best before 20.11.17. Pours a clear, dark reddish/chestnut brown, with a frothy, light tan head. Sweet and a bit tart aroma; somewhat berry-like. Cooked vegetables note at first as well, but turns into an overripe fruit note as it warms. Flavour is sweetish and berry-like, with a rhubarb note, as well as overripe fruit. Fledgling hints of vanilla and raisin as it warms. Fruity, malty finish, mildly bitter. Too much carbonation. Overall so-so. Not really bad, but feels unbalanced, and is not that stout-like; too much fruit! 26.02.17.
