PowY (3777) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - JAN 2, 2022
UPDATED: JAN 2, 2022 25.12.2021: 750 ml bottle at home, 11.5% ABV, vintage 2019, bought at bierlager onlineshop. Pours an oily very dark mahogany with hardly any light brown head. Aroma of maple syrup, coffee, mildly roasted coffee, cocoa, dark chocolate, sweet Bourbon, fudge, caramel and some vanilla. Full oily body with a soft carbonation, a medium to heavy sweetness and a light to medium roasty bitterness. The flavor starts with sweet roasted malt and maple syrup along notes of brown sugar, fudge, chocolate and dark chocolate. Becomes more roasted and more coffee forward towards the finish. Finishes with a light roasty bitterness, coffee, light burnt notes, dark chocolate, mild Bourbon and residual notes of maple syrup. Really good with intense maple syrup flavors and a deep yet mildly roasted coffee character whereas the Bourbon barrels are there but more in the background. JorisPPattyn (12750) - Wilrijk, BELGIUM - DEC 13, 2021
UPDATED: DEC 13, 2021 I Label claims 'only' 14% ABV /I Small short-lived russet head over jet-black syrup, sorry, beer. Black if sweetened coffee, coffeesyrup, maple syrup. Sweet, with vanilla and Bourbon in front of sweet-bitter roast. Faint madeira-sweet with a touch of mineral. Viscous as few. Thick, despite all the alcohol (and the heat thereof), as eating & drinking at the same time. Very special beer. Google translates this as 'wooden blood' - whatever that might mean, it's OK with me.

marcus (12679) - Sacramento, California, USA - NOV 28, 2021
UPDATED: NOV 28, 2021 Bottle from oRos. Pours dark brown with a modest tan head and a chocolate and maple aroma. There is a full-bodied dark molasses flavor with a just right amount of maple and a very tasty coffee finish with a warm bourbon trail.

mjs (10227) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 4, 2021
UPDATED: SEP 4, 2021 (Keg at Mikkeller Helsinki, 20210904) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had wood, vanilla and sweetness. Palate was full bodied and sticky sweet with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, sweetness, more sweetness, vanilla, ash, even more sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, burnt and bitter. An excessively sweet brew with sweet barrel notes. Not pleasant.

mcberko (34280) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 17, 2021
UPDATED: JUN 17, 2021 On tap at Mikkeller SF, pours black with a tiny brown head. Nose is decadent, with loads of maple syrup, coffee and intense bourbon. Flavour is intense, with hot bourbon upfront, followed by alcohol, coffee and a bit of maple syrup. Intensely hot and boozy, but integrated nicely. Excellent.
