Hazy straw pour with frothy white head. Nose of hops, mango, pineapple, hoppy and fruity flavor, complex palate and finish.

12floz can, no freshness date present, $1.50 unit cost, tulip glass. I had to pour the last ounce after the voluminous settled. This resulted in yeast murkiness to the pumpkin orange body. Smells like it tastes, citrusy and flowery. A solid American IPA that is robustly bitter without being cuttingly harsh, and has some malt feel.

Pours a hazy golden orange from the can with bubbly off-white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of caramel malts and slight oxidation, a hint of fruity earthy hops. Taste follows, oxidized, unfortunate.

12 oz. can. A big fluffy off white head that leaves sticky lacing and ends in a rocky uneven head. A fruity, earthy, slightly spicy aroma that is typical of Simcoe. Tropical leads. The flavor is also prototypical Simcoe. Tropical fruit with moderate bitterness. Earth. Complex hop effects include herbal notes and pine. Simcoe is a great hop and this lets it shine nicely.

From the can. Pours light amber/gold w slight haze. Small off-white haze, dissipates quickly into thin film. Aroma is malt forward, caramel, bready, with waves of fresh pine, mango, earthy notes. Taste is caramel, light pine and some citrus. Finish of citrus/piney bitterness. Medium body, good carbonation, gives a pleasant mouth feel, although lingering resinous stick from the finish is a bit much for my liking. Overall, although the pure Simcoe aroma is somewhat lost in the caramel malt I still very much enjoyed the unique aroma combo, but I wouldn’t drink more than one can in a night.

can @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Aroma of malt and citrus. Hazy dark amber with lots of tiny floaters, big (5") off-white head that doesn’t give up, cobwebs of lace. Taste is malt with light caramel, medium fizz, and assertive, but non-hostile, citrus hops. The whole package is complex, well-balanced, easy-drinking,...I like it!

Ïi used to like Simcoe hops, but not so bad any more. Just too bitter without any fringe benefits. OK beer; nothing special.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, papaya, lemon/orange peel, pine, light honey, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dank citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, papaya, lemon/orange peel, pine, light honey, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/herbal/citrus peel bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, papaya, lemon/orange peel, pine, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dank citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, and creamy/grainy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.3%. Overall this is a great IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dank citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Can sample at a tasting at Beer and Beyond shop. Clear orange color with a creamy head. Aroma is malty with notes of caramel and stale fruity hops. Sweet, malty, notes of caramel, tropical fruits, honey, strong bitterness. Medium-bodied, smooth, feels old.

can. Deep golden orange with one finger head. Medium body. Very catty with pine and dank citrus peel. Moderate bitterness. Solid Simcoe-focused IPA.
