COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: ’To From’ is the perfect Christmas gift for lazy dudes. Just fill in the To/From card on the front label and put it under the three. ’To From’ is an easy drinkable christmasporter with light malty sweetness and a slight touch of X-mas spices.

Editor’s note: This is the 2007 edition. 2008 has a separate listing.

UPDATED: APR 22, 2021 This is a backlog rating from 2007 from a bottle shared by Tmoney99, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time, work and/or family. Words to describe this beer are roasted malts, dark fruits, chocolate, earthy, anise, good.

On tap at Pinthouse Pizza Burnet. Pours black with small frothy beige head that lasts. The aroma is cracker malt, roast, cocoa, wood. Thick mouth, chewy, roast, cocoa, cracker malt, light booze finish, very good.

So much taste in this. It needs some CO2 though. But still a very good beer.

A dark porter with complex subtle flavors of spice, slight chocolate, and slight coffee flavors. A very good porter. A little heavy. I wouldn’t seek this out over other less rare finds.

Rated on 12-04-2009 (Corked and caged bottle) This beer forms a large fizzy light brown head that mostly diminishes, opaque black body, and a fair amount of lacing. The Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, burnt, and spicy. The Taste is heavy, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, burnt, spicy, and has an average dry finish. The Palate is tingly and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, this beer is very quaffable, very tasty, worth trying, and a beer I recommend and would drink again.

Bottle@guren. X "mad" evening. Intense chocolate malty notes and flavour. Some dry tartness. Bitter hoppy flavours. Medium complex stale mouthfeel. Super brew. Thanks to WHO ever gave me this ;)

Obviously 2007 Vintage – although no year is stated anywhere on the bottle. The label matches with the one that is shown on there on RB. The annual Mikkeller Christmas porter with spices which appears to be an annual but ever changing Christmas gift card beer from Mikkeller which dates al the way back to their early days. They were founded only in 2006 if I am not mistaken. 75 cl. bottle split by 5 @ Kulminator in Mikkeller tasting glasses. Pours black with not too long lasting mocha bubbles but that is to be expected. Usually I am not the biggest fan of vintage beers & even with the good ones with the exception of real sours, the nose disappoints but with this one the nose is frankly quite phenomenal. Am I finally getting the sherry notes of aged beers that everyone is always talking about? Crazy sherry mixed with sweet chocolate, nuts, candy, sugar, touch dark fruits, toffee,… very good. Taste has also held up quite well, way less bitter than the 2012 – I recently tried, only light bitterness, sweet chocolate, nuts, lots of candy, plenty of hazelnut, touch herbs, dark fruits, toffee, no aftertaste. Mellowed quite a bit & is probably soon going to fall but this is quite impressive. Body is medium & soon bound to fall, already showing signs but still fine for now.

Bottle (til Nils fra Julemanden). Pours cloudy dark brown with airy tan head. Dark aroma of malt, caramel and dried fruit. Significantly bitter taste of (roasted?) malt combined with the sweetness of caramel and dried fruit. Nice. Very nice.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours black in color with a dark brown head. Dark fruits as raisins and chocolate in aroma. Milk chocolate, roasted malts and hops in flavour.

Bottle (thanks to Angeloregon)... Poured jet black with a rocky forming, light brown head. A little thin on the body. Some big roasted, chared malt characters. A hint of smoke, peat. Some toasted sweetness, vanilla. Super smooth, hardly any alcohol tones yet it reminded me of a stiff cocktail. Roast, campfire, dark chocolate, fresh pressed coffee, toffee toasted sweetness.
