Learninbeer (937) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - OCT 4, 2020UPDATED: OCT 4, 2020 The aroma is a slight chocolate, anise. Pours a dark brown with fully diminishing tan head. The taste is a mild bitter. The body is full, the texture creamy, the carbonation lively. This has held up very well for a 12 year old Porter. Very Good!
GarrettB (2381) - San Diego, California, USA - FEB 3, 2020UPDATED: FEB 3, 2020 December 14th, 2015 - This is another bottle plucked from the must and cobwebs of a suburban basement in Colorado, with the 'To' and 'From' label still blank. Today, it is from me and to me. It pours a dark and inky color with a subtle light brown head, and offers a slightly sour scent which, with the holidays approaching, I am biased to say might be cranberry. But there's a darker and umami rich hit of soy sauce, and some dark chocolate in the malt base keeping this somewhere between a winter warmer and a porter. And darker still is the flavor, which establishes the heartiness and bitterness of a start, with a little tang on the side offering an additional dimension to the flavor structure. Also notable are the rich and gourmet chocolate notes, adorned with a light raisin fruitiness and a puff of pipe tobacco. This is a fantastic and pensive holiday beer, and well worth keeping to yourself, even if the label strongly suggests gifting it to your favorite beer drinking loved one.
alexsdad06 (16451) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JUN 5, 2019UPDATED: JUN 5, 2019 Bottle sample, from notes (2011). Pours dark brown to black in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, dark chocolate, spices, anise, a light tart fruit character, overall interesting and tasty.
TEJA (5075) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 31, 2018UPDATED: DEC 31, 2018 Big bottle sampled 31 dec 2018. Bottle from Systembolaget.
No head. Totally black color.Unfortunantly this bottle have been stored too long. It have by mistake been stored now for 10 years and no carbonation and some oxidation. The liqurish / star anis is still present and a sweet malty taste.
drpimento (6063) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 2, 2015I can tell where they were going with this one, unfortunately for me, I got the bottle to late to get there. The beer is starting to go sour ( I bought several as Christmas gifts too :( ) The flavors of the beer couple with its turning don’t work well together.

Alengrin (9649) - Gent, BELGIUM - AUG 15, 2014Christmas porter brewed by Mikkeller in Belgium in 2008. Darkish yellow beige head, black colour. Aroma of coffee, cacao powder, cinnamon, brown sugar, candied dates, tobacco. Intense, deep taste, sweetish onset, then heavily chocolatey malty, mouth-filling, strong roasted bitterness, long finish. I wouldn’t mind receiving this as a Christmas gift.

Taste is slightly watery and sour-ish, dark malts, sour coffee, licorice, burnt caramel, ashtray, grass, butterscotch, dark berries. Medium bitterness, a little thin body.
