Dark wheat beer? Why not! ThePolish autumn and spring provide enough refreshment in the form of chilly air. This, however, is not a reason for refusing a wheat beer. The colder seasons are a good time for relishing the dark varieties of the style, developed by the Germans, who invariably remain big fans of the dark (dunkel) variety. It owes its colour to a more intensely roasted malt (a combination of wheat and barley malt). Browar Fortuna is the only establishment in Poland where this type of malt is made in-house. This beer’s recipe includes a strain of top-fermenting yeast, which strongly affects its flavour and aroma. The unique character of Miłosław Pszeniczne is therefore not limited to its colour.
